Amro Ali has been appointed as Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands

Amro Ali brings more than 15 years' experience in luxury hotel management to his new role as Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands. He joins the team from his former role as Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott Absheron in Baku, Azerbaijan. Ali's career began Front Office at Dusit Thani Dubai, where his dedication and talent propelled him in to sales. Demonstrating exceptional skills, Ali later joined the team at W Abu Dhabi Hotel as Sales Manager. In 2012, Ali transferred to The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai, as a Senior Sales Manager before assuming the position of Director of Sales. His success extended beyond Dubai, leading him to make a significant impact as Director of Sales at Hotel Arts Barcelona in Spain and later as the Director of Sales & Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Jeddah Palace. With a proven track record of excellence and a passion for delivering impeccable guest experiences, Ali will undoubtedly continue to make a lasting impact on the success of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands.

Chuang Ting Ya has been appointed as Director of Food & Beverage at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands

Chuang Ting Ya joins The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands from W Maldives, the former Director of Food and Beverage, where her hands-on leadership contributed significantly to the resort's growth and guest satisfaction. Born and raised in Taiwan, Ting began her career at Turnberry, a Luxury Collection Resort in Scotland, where as management trainee she later found her niche as a talented Tea Sommelier. Ting's passion for excellence led her to the St. Regis Abu Dhabi, where she assumed a number of leadership roles. Her dedication to the craft led to a transfer to the St. Regis Beijing, where she thrived as the Food and Beverage Manager. Ting later held the position of Assistant Food and Beverage Director at W Chengdu in China, demonstrating a keen eye for orchestrating exceptional guest experiences. Ting joins the Ladies and Gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands with a clear vision of elevating service standards, enhancing quality, and maximizing profitability for the resort, all while providing unforgettable guest experiences.

The Ritz-Carlton has appointed Mark Aldridge as Sales and Marketing Director of The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, the brand's debut property in the Maldives, operating since June 2021. With over 20 years of international hotel experience, Mark brings both proven excellence in hospitality market-share growth and a global perspective to his new position, commencing January 2023.

Nishantha Parana Vithanaga has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is proud to present Nishantha Parana Vithanaga as the Executive Chef of the 100-villa resort, poised to open on June 1, 2021. With over 30 years of experience in luxury brands such as the One & Only, Jumeirah and Hilton Group in the Middle East and Asia, the Sri-Lankan-born Chef brings an exclusive culinary experience at the seven restaurants of the resort. Nishantha's culinary passion began at a very young age when he started helping his mother with her banqueting business as an after-school hobby. He started his hospitality career as a trainee at the age of 19, taking new heights as he progressed globally in Hilton Colombo, Jumeirah Vittaveli - the Maldives, One & Only Reethi Rah Maldives. Over the years, trained under celebrity and Michelin-starred chefs, experimenting cuisines and managing multi-cultural teams, Nishantha's culinary style balances on three principles: clean, simple and palatable. His philosophy is reflected at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives's culinary offerings; fresh and organic herbs and vegetables are cultivated daily from the organic garden, and fresh fish and lobsters caught sustainably from the Maldivian seas are part of the menus. While creating a long-lasting memory through unique flavours is what the chef is remembered for by his guests. When his Chef hats are off, Nishantha is found at the heart of Sichuan province searching for the fieriest peppercorn, in the rainforests of Malaysia exploring exotic fruits or in the familiar routes of his home country, Sri Lanka, learning heirloom recipes from grandmothers. Guests can enjoy one of such discoveries at the Beach Shack, the Jaffna-style mud crab. Nishantha and his team of chefs are looking forward to taking guests on a culinary journey with exquisite dishes crafted with rare and sustainably sourced ingredients and bespoke experiences.
