Maya Hotels Acquires Courtyard Charlotte Gastonia, Plans Extensive Renovation

Maya Hotels Celebrates Grand Opening of Hilton Garden Inn Gastonia / Charlotte West

The newly opened Hilton Garden Inn Gastonia / Charlotte West celebrated its grand opening with a "Spring Into the Garden" event that featured a reception with garden-themed hors d'oeuvres, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, property tours, raffle prizes, and entertainment by the Synergy Twins. Special guests included Mayor Walker Reid, members of the Gastonia City Council, and members of the Gaston Regional Chamber.

Maya Hotels Opens New Hilton Garden Inn in Gastonia, North Carolina

Maya Hotels is pleased to announce the opening of the five-story Hilton Garden Inn in Gastonia, NC. The 119-room, upscale hotel, located at 444 Cox Road, features modern and contemporary designs, the brand's hallmark bright and airy décor and more than 7,500 square feet of meeting space with full catering. The hotel's opening is scheduled for the week of March 4, 2019, marking the first significant new opening in Gastonia's hotel landscape in almost a decade. The hotel is operated by Maya Hotels.

Emily McGeorge has been appointed as Conference Planning Manager at Gastonia Conference Center

Fred Julius, Chief Operating Officer for The Wilderman Group announced the appointment of Emily McGeorge of Gastonia, NC as Conference Planning Manager at the multi-use 30,000-square-foot in Gastonia, NC. A native of Gastonia, Emily received her B.S. in Hospitality Management from Western Carolina University and served an internship with Aramark Campus Services at Western Carolina University. She has also held positions as Catering Director with Aramark at Coastal Carolina University and has ten years of experience in hospitality with a concentration on event management and marketing coordination, and has designed and executed corporate social events of all sizes. Emily is an active member of the Junior League of Gaston County, and is a local volunteer at the Loray Girls Home, Taste of Gaston, the Gaston Memorial Hospital and the Gastonia Downtown Development Corporation. She is a member of the York Chester Neighborhood Association and The United Way.

Carl Anthony (Tony) Swainey has been named Vice President and General Manager at the Gastonia Conference Center

In his role as General Manager, Mr. Swainey will introduce Gastonia Conference Center to the community and the region for weddings, meetings and special events. In addition, he will manage the day-to-day operations of the facility to achieve the established financial targets for the center and will be responsible for preparing budgets, marketing strategies and managing expectations for the new multi-use facility. His responsibilities will also include environmental stewardship of the property’s innovative sustainable hospitality programs.
