Now Open: INNSiDE by Meliá Saigon Central in Ho Chi Minh City

Following the success of the INNSiDE by Meliá brand in Asia and globally, Meliá Hotels International today announced the opening of INNSiDE by Meliá Saigon Central, the first hotel operated under the INNSiDE by Meliá brand in Vietnam introducing a chic urban lifestyle to the region. The newly opened hotel marks another milestone for the group - the third brand to launch in Vietnam following Meliá Hotels & Resorts and Sol by Meliá, further consolidating Meliá Hotels International's commitment to the Asia Pacific region. Joining the group's portfolio in Vietnam, INNSiDE by Meliá Saigon Central is the seventh property operating in the region, with an additional five hotels in the pipeline.

John Gardner has been promoted to General Director of Chains at Caravelle Hotel Joint Venture Company Limited

Caravelle Saigon has recently seen a change in its Executive Management team as John Gardner, former General Manager, takes over from Martyn Davies, who has been with the property for nearly twenty years. Effective from 1st September, John Gardner commenced the position of General Director of Chains Caravelle Hotel Joint Venture Company Limited.

Andrew Donadel has been appointed as General Manager at PARKROYAL Saigon

An Australian, Andrew started his hospitality career with The Westin Sydney and Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain before moving on to Ascott International where he spent six years managing Somerset, Citadines and Ascott serviced residences in Singapore and Australia. Prior to his appointment, Andrew was General Manager of the 180-unit Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road, Singapore, where he guided the property from its pre- opening stages to a successful launch last May. At the same time, he also oversaw the management of the adjacent 90-unit PARKROYAL Serviced Suites, Singapore. Both properties are owned and managed by Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

Kenny Teo has been appointed as General Manager at PARKROYAL Saigon

General Manager of PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur, Kenny Teo has moved to Vietnam to take on the position of General Manager at the 186-room PARKROYAL Saigon. An accomplished hotelier, Kenny has more than 25 years of experience in both hotel and serviced suites operations in London, Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia. After managing luxury serviced suites in Malaysia for the past 12 years, Kenny’s new appointment marks a new phase in his career which will see him take charge of full-service hotel operations.

Michaela Smith has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at InterContinental Asiana Saigon

Ms. Smith started her career with the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) as the Director of Convention Sales in 2007 at the Crowne Plaza Bratislava, Slovakia. During her tenure, the hotel has achieved numerous awards, including the “Best Hotel in Slovakia” in 2008 and the “Best Business Hotel in Slovakia” in two consecutive years 2007 and 2008.
