Keith Sheldon has been promoted to President of Entertainment and Brand Management at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Seminole Hard Rock has promoted Keith Sheldon to President of Entertainment and Brand Management for Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International. In this new and expanded role, Sheldon will be responsible for oversight of brand management, consumer marketing, brand partnerships, and sponsorship revenue generation. He will continue to oversee all facets of entertainment including programming, talent buying, nightlife, and industry relations. Sheldon will continue to report to Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International and CEO of Seminole Gaming.

Elena Alvarez has been appointed as SVP of Marketing and Brand Partnerships at Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International

Seminole Hard Rock has appointed Elena Alvarez as the new Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Partnerships for Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International. In this new role, the company veteran will be responsible for the development of brand activations and integrating assets across Hotels, Cafes, Retail, and Casinos including overseeing the development of new revenue-generating platforms. Alvarez will also continue to oversee the global marketing of the Cafe division of Hard Rock International. She reports to Jeff Hook, Executive Vice President of Marketing/CMO of Seminole Hard Rock Support Services and, with respect to brand partnerships, to Keith Sheldon, President of Entertainment.

Laurens Zieren has been appointed general manager of The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood, Curio Collection by Hilton in Hollywood, Florida, according to Hilton senior vice president, Leslie Pchola, effective immediately. A veteran Hilton leader for almost 20 years, Zieren returns to Hilton after a regional vice president role for a hotel management company. In his new role, he will oversee operations of the iconic oceanfront hotel with 1,000 guest rooms and suites, 10 different culinary destinations, two sun-drenched pools, 26 poolside cabanas, a deluxe spa and fitness center, and 209,000 sq. ft. of meetings and events space.

Jim Curtis has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa

After three years overseeing sales and marketing efforts for Starwood Caribbean, Jim Curtis has returned to The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa to take on the role of director of sales & marketing for the second time. With over 26 years of hospitality experience including 21 years with Starwood, Curtis will be responsible for continuing to drive occupancy at the Hollywood, FL resort by targeting groups of all sizes.

Amanda Totaro has been appointed as Vice President of Marketing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Totaro comes to the Seminole Hard Rock with more than 12 years of experience in the gaming industry, including the position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Isle of Capri Casinos, St. Louis, Mo. She has held senior marketing positions in Las Vegas at both American Casino & Entertainment Properties, where she also was chief marketing officer, and Harrah’s Entertainment, where she was vice president, brand marketing. Most recently, Totaro was senior vice president at The Fine Point Group, Las Vegas, where she led the marketing effort for the company’s casino management contracts. As The Fine Point Group’s head of marketing at Greektown Casino in Detroit, Michigan, Totaro increased revenue by 15 percent and market share by 24 percent, within a year of taking over marketing, revenue management, hotel sales and reservations and IT at the property. Totaro’s career also includes marketing positions at MasterCard International and Dime Bancorp of New York. She was also senior vice president at a New York City advertising agency and managing director at Hill & Knowlton communications, New York. She moved to New York from South Florida, where she was a radio news anchor, an anchor and reporter at what is now Miami’s CBS affiliate station, and the director of the Office of Public Information for the City of Miami Beach.
