J. Sal Icaza has been named Director of Franchise Development at La Quinta Inns & Suites

La Quinta Inns & Suites announces the appointment of hospitality industry veteran, Mr. J. Sal Icaza, as Director of Development for the Northeast who will be responsible for the growth of the La Quinta brand in MD, PA, DE, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT and ME. Icaza brings more than 20 years of industry experience to this role and joins La Quinta after holding senior franchise sales positions at Choice Hotels International, Hilton Hotel Corporation and consumer brands outside the hotel industry. He was also the Chief Development and Operating Officer at Cherry Cove Hospitality Management, a successful ownership and management company he helped build from the ground up.Mr. Icaza is involved in numerous civic and charitable causes and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Memphis. He lives in Southern Maryland with his wife and four children.

Mit Shah has been appointed as Chairman of the board at La Quinta Holdings Inc.

Shah has served on the boards of directors of La Quinta and its predecessor entities since 2013. He currently serves as CEO and senior managing principal of Noble Investment Group, which he founded in 1993. Shah also currently serves as president of the Marriott International's MINA board, is a member of the owner and franchise board for Hyatt Hotels Corporation and is a member of the Industry Real Estate Finance Advisory Council of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

Grace Nungesser has been appointed as Director of Sales at NYLO Las Colinas

Prior to becoming Director of Group Sales for the Las Colinas boutique hotel, Nungesser was Sales Manager at the Omni Mandalay at Las Colinas and the Corporate and Association Catering Manager at the Crowne Plaza Dallas Near the Galleria-Addison Hotel. Grace boasts more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and excels at establishing long-term relationships with clients.

Caleb DuBose has been appointed as General Manager at NYLO Las Colinas

Caleb DuBose brings with him more than 23 years of sales and management experience in the hotel industry. DuBose first joined the NYLO Las Colinas team in December as the Director of Sales and Marketing, and he previously served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for both the Omni Dallas Park West and the Omni Corpus Christi. DuBose aims to raise the excellent level of quality service that the NYLO Las Colinas is known for.

Victoria Nickle has been named Spa Director at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas

international Bliss Spa, winning the Condé Nast Traveler award for Best Urban Day Spa in 2001. Moving to the United States, she joined Steiner Leisure as corporate director of operations for Mandara Spa,s where she was responsible for the daily operation of 17 national and international resort spas. In 2006, she gained the additional responsibility of director of special projects, opening new spas for Steiner with partner hotels including Disney, Kerzner, Hilton and Marriott.

David Wilner has been named Corporate VP, Development at La Quinta franchising

In his new role, Wilner directs and supervises corporate development and franchise sales activities, including management of sales staff. He joined La Quinta as Director of Franchise Development in 2001, and served as Vice President of Franchise Development for the Western United States and Central America from 2007 through 2009. Wilner has more than a dozen years of development and management experience in the lodging industry. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona. La Quinta’s franchising program was launched in 2001, and since then has signed more than 600 franchise agreements. The brand has grown to more than 730 hotels, with another 250 in the pipeline. Its rapid pace of growth makes La Quinta a top franchise choice, and the industry leader, in the mid-market segment. La Quinta was named the fastest-growing brand in the industry in 2008, and was selected as the top brand for franchisee ROI two years running (2007 and 2008).
