Spencer Yeo has been appointed as General Manager at Viceroy Istanbul

Viceroy Hotel Group announces the appointment of Spencer Yeo as General Manager of Viceroy Istanbul to commence January 1st, 2013. Yeo will oversee all pre-opening activities of the hotel, as well as eventual operations of the outstanding 14-acre property, which is scheduled to debut in 2014. Yeo takes his new role in Turkey after 3 years as hotel manager of the group’s Five Star, Five Diamond property, L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. A 19-year veteran of the luxury hospitality business, his career has been spent with some of the world’s most renowned brands such as Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula and Intercontinental as well as diverse regions including Nairobi, Egypt, London and Washington, DC.

18 new top hotels for Istanbul

Pinar Kartal Timer has been appointed as General Manager at Pera Palace Hotel, Jumeirah

Jumeirah was recently appointed to manage Pera Palace Hotel in Istanbul and the hotel’s current General Manager, Pınar Kartal Timer, will join the Jumeirah Group leadership team when the hotel rebrands as part of the Jumeirah portfolio on 1 May 2012. Pınar Kartal Timer started her career at the Hilton Istanbul in 1988. She held several positions until her promotion to Director of Sales and Marketing for both Hilton Istanbul and Hilton Parksa in 1994. She also worked for Moevenpick and Kempinski before being appointed as General Manager of Pera Palace Hotel in 2009. A Turkish national, she is fluent in English and German.

Morgans Hotel Group Enters Mangement Agreement for New Build Mondrian Brand to be Located in the Old City of Istanbul, Turkey

Morgans Hotel Group Co. today announced that it has entered into a hotel management agreement for an approximately 128-room Mondrian-branded hotel to be located in the Old City area of Istanbul, Turkey.
