Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa opens in Disney Springs® Resort area in Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Located in the Disney Springs® Resort Area in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa is now open for accommodations, meetings and events, spa, and dining experiences. Renaissance Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy's global portfolio of over 30 extraordinary hotel brands, is known for connecting travelers to the spirit of the neighborhood through unexpected discoveries. The full-service resort features 394 newly appointed guest rooms, more than 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, a zero-entry pool and hot tub, and signature farm-to-table restaurant, American Kitchen Bar & Grill.

Drury Hotels is developing its first property in the DISNEY SPRINGS® Resort Area in Orlando, Florida

Drury Hotels Company is bringing a bit of magic to its guests. The company is developing its largest property to date, the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista, and will begin to welcome guests by spring 2021. The new property, located in the DISNEY SPRINGS® Resort Area in Orlando, Florida, is the company's first Official Walt Disney World® Hotel and the fourth Drury Hotel in the state. The entire project - which includes 604 rooms and more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space - will be complete by the end of 2021, with the first 264 rooms available by spring 2021. The new hotel will feature a host of amenities and is in close proximity to the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks.

Mary Hutchcraft has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at B Resort, located in the Walt Disney World® Resort

Hutchcraft brings to the B Resort a depth of experience, having served 18 years in hospitality sales. Most recently, she was task force Director of Sales and Marketing for Hospitality Ventures Management Group at the International Palms Resort and Conference Center, Orlando. While there, she led a nine-person sales team, directing all sales and marketing initiatives for the 642-room property. Prior to that, Hutchcraft served as the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Reunion Wyndham Grand Golf and Spa Resort near Orlando. In this role, she coordinated successful marketing and branding campaigns between the resort and corporate marketing departments and organized cross-training and cross-selling programs for three properties in the Grand Golf Resorts of Florida portfolio. Earlier, Hutchcraft was Director of Sales at The Shores Resort & Spa, Daytona Beach, Fla., where she transitioned the property under new management, coming in under budget, while also achieving all sales goals.

Jerry Parquette has been appointed as Food and Beverage Director at B Resort

Parquette brings to the B Resort over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. In his most recent position as the Director of Food and Beverage at the 1,100-room DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at Seaworld Resort, Parquette was responsible for upgrading and repositioning all food and beverage concepts, as well revamping the banquets department. Prior to that, he served as the Food and Beverage Executive overseeing the 400-room Sheraton North Hotel and Conference Center where he aligned food and beverage operations throughout the company with brand management and concept development. Earlier, Parquette held the position of Director of Food and Beverage at the 511-room Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando and the 502-room Sheraton Safari Hotel and Suites in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. In prior positions, Parquette has mentored and hired senior level leadership, guided food and beverage departments to increase profits and guest satisfaction scores year to year, reduced food and beverage costs while raising total guest satisfaction scores, and generated ideas which were successfully implemented throughout entire brand portfolios.

Jurgen Schafers has been appointed as General Manager at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek

Prior to joining Wyndham, Schafers served as general manager of the 750-room, AAA Four Diamond-rated Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. Previously, he oversaw hotel operations at the 2,267-room Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin as complex hotel manager. He has also worked in management and operations roles at Westin properties in Atlanta, Ga., and Tampa Bay, Fla. From 2008 to 2010, Schafers was Vice Chairman of the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association, the largest regional hospitality association in the country. He began his career in 1986 with Hilton Hotels Corporation, where he held various on-property food and beverage management positions and trained under Hilton’s Progressive Development Program. Schafers earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Florida State University in Tallahassee.

James Moss has been appointed as director of sales and marketing at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek

Moss previously served as director of sales and marketing at the luxury, 306-room Conrad Miami. He began his career at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla., and has held sales and marketing roles at both independent and branded properties across the United States and the Caribbean, including St. Lucia, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Georgia and California. He attended Western Kentucky University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and restaurant management.
