Miraval Announces the Addition of New Accommodations to Miraval Berkshires Resort & Spa

Miraval Resorts & Spas announced today the planned addition of Wyndhurst Manor's Wyndhurst Mansion, three charming carriage houses, and a historic fine-dining restaurant to Miraval Berkshires Resort & Spa on April 1, 2022. Currently part of the Destination by Hyatt brand, Wyndhurst Manor will add the Wyndhurst Mansion's 10 newly renovated guestrooms and suites, all named after writers, artists, and creatives of a bygone era, to the Miraval Berkshires experience. Three carriage houses with 10 additional guest accommodations and an upscale dining establishment, 1894 Fireside Bistro & Bar, named after the year the mansion was completed, will also become part of Miraval Berkshires.

Hyatt Unveils Miraval Berkshires and Wyndhurst Manor & Club

oday, Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced the introduction of the internationally acclaimed Miraval spa and wellness brand to Lenox, Mass., with the opening of Miraval Berkshires. This opening marks the Miraval brand's third property, joining its original location in Tucson, Ariz. - celebrating its 25th anniversary this year - and second location in Austin, Texas, which opened in February 2019. On the same property as Miraval Berkshires, Hyatt simultaneously introduces Wyndhurst Manor & Club, a Destination Hotel, with a focus on the Berkshires' rich culture and history. Both resorts sit atop 380 protected acres and offer a diverse range of year-round programming that encourages guests to celebrate the changing New England seasons.

James Wolfe has been appointed as General Manager at Seven Hills in the Berkshires

James Wolfe has been appointed general manager of Seven Hills, a historic, 57-room boutique hotel in the Berkshires' town of Lenox. Backed by 17 years of senior leadership experience in the hospitality industry, Wolfe joins the hotel in the midst of a repositioning and renovation that is slated for completion this spring. Wolfe comes to Seven Hills from another Berkshires hotel, the 77-room Comfort Inn & Suites Sturbridge, where he also served as general manager. Over the course of his career, he has held general manager positions at hotels throughout the Northeast and Midwest under the Courtyard by Marriott, Hyatt Place, and Residence Inn brands. As general manager of Newark Metropolitan Hotel in Newark, Ohio, he led the 118-room hotel through an acquisition, renovation and grand opening. Wolfe has also served as director of operations for Crowne Plaza and The Lofts in Columbus, Ohio, and for Sage Hospitality's Cherry Valley Lodge and Sheraton Kansas City Sports Complex.

Natalie Ward has been appointed as General Manager at Blantyre

General Manager Natalie Ward will oversee daily operations of the 110-acre estate and resort, slated to re-open in April following a multimillion dollar investment in the property"s luxurious accommodations, spa, activities and public spaces. Bringing more than 20 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Ms. Ward is a seasoned hotelier with expertise in the New England region.

Todd Owen has been appointed as Executive Chef at Canyon Ranch

Canyon Ranch in Lenox welcomes award-winning chef Todd Owen to the team. With training from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, he brings more than a decade of experience to his new role. Chef Todd has held notable positions at hotels and resorts around the country including The Cloister Hotel at Sea Island, Georgia, L’auberge Provencale in Northern Virginia, The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, W. Virginia, Old Edwards Inn and Spa in Highlands, North Carolina, and The Omni Park Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina.

Courtyard Lenox Berkshires opening in Massachusetts

Courtyard by Marriott Lenox Berkshires is scheduled to open its doors in Lenox, Massachusetts today. Featuring a unique historic building design as a "Second Empire" reproduction, as a tribute to Lenox"s famous Gilded Age. With an innovative lobby space as well as Courtyard"s latest contemporary room design, the new hotel provides flexibility and choices that allow guests to optimize and elevate their travel experience. Located at 70 Pittsfield Road, the 92-room hotel is independently owned and managed by Toole Companies. The Courtyard is situated in a beautiful private preserve afoot a vast natural forestland.

Carl Pratt has been named General Manager at Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club

Bringing more than 20 years of hotel and resort management experience to Cranwell, Pratt has served in various management and operational positions in the hospitality area. After joining Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires in 1989, he was appointed Spa Director, Hotel Director and then Managing Director, before leaving to become General Manager of the Hanover Inn in Hanover, NH. During his time there, he served a dual role as Wellness Program Director for Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth College, where he delivered leadership and stress management workshops, as well as developing a wellness education program for Dartmouth College faculty and employees. Pratt holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Johnston State College, as well as a certification with the Center for Creative Leadership. Former GM Lewis Kiesler, who is retiring after 45 years in the hospitality industry in New England and the Caribbean, leaves Cranwell after overseeing it’s progression that included the opening of the world-class state of the art Spa in 2002.

Christine M. Schaefer has been named Senior Sales Manager at the Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club

Schaefer brings more than 10 years of sales and customer service experience to her new post, which marks her return to the hospitality industry and the Lenox resort. In addition to her earlier posts, Schaefer served as the resort’s corporate sales manager/catering sales manager from 2001 – 2006. Her other industry positions include director of sales and marketing at The Orchards (2006 – 2008), assistant to the innkeepers at The Egremont Inn (2000 – 2001) and executive housekeeper at The Red Lion Inn (1998 – 2000). Most recently, Schaefer was an independent agent for American Family Life Assurance Company. Schaefer is currently pursuing a degree in business administration at Berkshire Community College and attended Northwestern Connecticut Community College. She is a board member of Berkshire Business & Professional Women and an advisory board member of SuitYourself Boutique.
