Inhabit Paddington, the first property by the new mindfulness-focused Inhabit Hotel brand, has opened its doors. Set across six Grade-II listed townhouses in West London, the property is billed as "a new urban wellness hotel", and will place health, social connectedness, intellectual expansion and environmental responsibility at the heart of the offer. Located just minutes from Paddington Station and in close proximity with Hyde Park, the project seeks to provide a relaxing base from which guests can explore the bustling capital city.

Sandeep Bhalla has been appointed as General Manager at The Connaught

Distinguished hotelier Sandeep Bhalla has been appointed General Manager of The Connaught, theiconic five star hotel on Mount Street, in the heart of Mayfair, part of Maybourne Hotel Group.Indian-born Sandeep has worked in the luxury hospitality sector for 25 years in London, Dubai andIndia. Before joining The Connaught as Hotel Manager in 2018, he worked at sister hotel The Berkeleyin Knightsbridge, where he joined as Director of Food and Beverage in 2007 and was subsequentlyappointed Hotel Manager in 2012. Before joining Maybourne Hotel Group Sandeep was part of the preopening team of the prestigious Burj Al Arab in Dubai.In his new role as General Manager of The Connaught, Sandeep will oversee the re-opening of twoMichelin star Hélène Darroze at The Connaught in September 2019, as well as spearheading a series ofnew developments at the luxury hotel this autumn 2019

Kurt Macher has been appointed as General Manager at Shangri-La hotel at the Shard London

Macher, who has more than 28-years' experience in the luxury travel industry, joins the five-red-AA-star, 202-bedroom hotel from the Temple House in Chengdu, China, where he held the same position as well as sitting on the board of the British Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China. Macher has also held senior management roles including Wharf hotels, Four Seasons hotels and resorts and the Peninsula Group. He replaces Paul Brackley who stepped down last month after three years with the hotel to "pursue other opportunities". 

The Residence Pop Up Terrace Bar Opens At Four Seasons Hotel London At Ten Trinity Square

This July, Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square opens its doors to an exclusive rooftop bar, The Residence, situated on the terrace of one of its luxury private residences. Overlooking some of the city's most impressive sights, from the Tower of London to the Shard, the bar will be open Thursday to Saturday evenings until September.

Hermann Spatt has been appointed as General Manager at nhow London

Born in Austria, Spatt studied International Hotel Management at MODUL University before joining Astron in Vienna as front office manager before becoming general manager Astron Suite Hotels - Vienna and Atterseehaus in 1997. Spatt subsequently joined NH Hotel Group in 2003 as GM for NH Vienna Airport. In 2011, he accepted his current GM position at Nhow Berlin, Europe's first music hotel.

The Standard, London opens July 11th

Housed in the former Camden Town Hall Annex in London's thriving King's Cross neighbourhood, the 1974 Brutalist building has been meticulously restored and sets the perfect stage for The Standard's first hotel outside America. The Standard, London has 266 rooms in 42 unique styles ranging from Cosy Core rooms to terraced suites with outdoor bathtubs overlooking St Pancras station. The lobby lounge, with a carefully curated library pays homage to the building's original use, with a Sounds studio hosting weekly live music and talks. Executive Chef Adam Rawson's street facing bar, Double Standard, offers lunch, happy-hour and casual drinking and dining, while his garden restaurant, Isla, features a seasonally-driven, coastal inspired menu. Board the street level, exterior red lift directly to the 10th-floor where Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias' forthcoming restaurant will showcase his live fire cooking and the building's 360-degree views of London.

Irene Hoek has been promoted to Vice President of Global Residential Development at Rosewood Hotel Group

Having most recently served as Vice President of Development for the European market, Irene Hoek now assumes the role of Vice President of Global Residential Development for the group. In this new role, Irene handles all matters relating to Rosewood's growing residential division, which currently features 12 existing projects and an additional nine in the pipeline. Irene first joined Rosewood in 2017 boasting over 20 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry across brands including Aman Hotels & Resorts, Dorchester Collection and InterContinental Hotels Group.
