Agustin will oversee Rosewood Sand Hill’s culinary team at Madera, the hotel’s Michelin-starred signature restaurant, the Pool Bar & Grill, en-suite dining and banquets. Daley will develop and implement Madera’s dinner and bar menus, and Quiroz will oversee the property’s F&B staff, day-to-day operations and the hotel’s cocktail program.
Born and raised in Puebla, Mexico, Quiroz most recently served as assistant director of food & beverage at Rosewood Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Previously, Quiroz worked as assistant director of food & beverage for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Paradisus by Melia in Playa del Carmen. Quiroz holds a bachelor’s degree in restaurant and hotel business administration from the University of Las Americas in Puebla.
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Avi Haksar as managing director of Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, CA. Mr. Haksar joins Rosewood Sand Hill with great experience in luxury hospitality management, including his most recent position as managing director of Rosewood Crescent in Dallas, Texas. In his new role, he will oversee all areas of Rosewood Sand Hill, including the luxury hotel’s 121 rooms and suites, award-winning restaurant Madera and Sense spa.Mr. Haksar brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to his new role, having developed his passion for the business at an early age at Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Switzerland. Prior to his tenure at Rosewood Crescent, Mr. Haksar was hotel manager for Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok and spent four years at Four Seasons Los Angeles. He also served as Director of Beverage at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas where he oversaw multiple dining outlets.
Maxime Cormier has been appointed regional spa director by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and spa director at Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, California. Maxime is the first regional spa director for the ultra-luxury hotel group.
Michael Casey, Managing Director of Rosewood Sand Hill, has announced that the new 123-room hotel, spa and restaurant, located just one mile west of the Stanford University campus, will welcome its first guests on April 2, 2009.
