Janko Hospitality, a Chicago-based operator of Midwestern hotels, opened a new Hyatt Place hotel at The Brewery in Milwaukee. Hyatt Place Milwaukee/Downtown, a 150-room, six-story hotel, is located in the heart of this rapidly redeveloping historical neighborhood as well as one block away from Milwaukee's much-anticipated entertainment district and new Milwaukee Bucks arena.

Nationally Recognized Firms Selected to Design Milwaukee’s First Arts-Focused Hotel

Excitement is building for Milwaukee"s newest downtown hotel focused on celebrating the arts. It was announced today that architecture and interior design firm Stonehill Taylor, based in New York City, and branding agency One Design Company, based in Chicago, will be tasked with reinventing the 221-room InterContinental Milwaukee, owned and managed by Marcus® Hotels & Resorts, into an immersive arts-focused hotel.

Brian Fahey has been appointed as General Manager at The Iron Horse Hotel

Driven by his lifelong passion for the hospitality industry, Brian Fahey brings a hands-on, personalized approach as the General Manager of the Iron Horse Hotel. Upon graduating from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass., Fahey immediately relocated to New York City and worked his way up at the city’s top hotels including the Four Seasons, The Langham, The Crosby Street Hotel, and most recently, the MADE Hotel New York. He draws inspiration from immersing himself in various cultural activities in the cities he travels to, like visiting the theater and exploring museums.

Eric Grimm has been appointed as General Manager at Millioke Meat, Cheese, Beer

With innovation top of mind and a strong commitment to customer service, Eric Grimm has taken the helm as the new general manager of Millioke Meat, Cheese, Beer, an urban tavern and dining room highlighting the hallmarks of Midwestern cuisine, located at 323 East Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. Grimm has led the successful initiatives of some of Milwaukee area landmark restaurants including Bravo, Coopers Hawk Winery and Mason Street Grille. "Grimm has a knack for making good restaurants great by creating an experiential environment, creating unique offerings and consistently delivering exceptional customer service," said Chris Anderson, chief revenue officer and senior vice president of White Lodging. Grimm is as authentic Wisconsin as the restaurant. He was raised in Appleton, Wisconsin and his wife is from Milwaukee. Mahesh Reddy has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Milwaukee City Center

Mahesh Reddy has been appointed general manager of the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. Reddy previously served as general manager of the Platinum Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas, Nev. He joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts in 2000 where he held leadership roles at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center for six years. In 2012, he was named general manager of the Westin Columbus and appointed general manager of the Platinum Hotel & Spa in 2013.

Scott Krause has been named Innkeeper of the Year at Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association

The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WH&LA), representing more than 650 hotels, motels, resorts and inns throughout the state, named Heidel House Resort & Spa General Manager Scott Krause as the 2014 Innkeeper of the Year at the Wisconsin Lodging Conference held in early November. Krause was recognized for his outstanding leadership in the Wisconsin lodging industry, serving as the general manager of Heidel House Resort & Spa for 11 years. He also currently serves on the Governor’s Council on Tourism as one of three delegates representing the lodging industry and was the first recipient of the Governor’s Tourism Service Award. Krause has also served as WH&LA Chairman of the Board in 2008, Wisconsin Representative on the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) Board of Directors and was accepted onto the prestigious AH&LA Resort Committee. Krause received special commendations from Governor Scott Walker for his service to the lodging industry.

Maureen DeValkenaere has been promoted to Director of Sales at Milwaukee Marriott West

Jim Waldvogel has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Milwaukee City Center

Jim Waldvogel will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Hilton Milwaukee City Center and will have operational oversight of the company’s two other Milwaukee properties, The Pfister Hotel and InterContinental Milwaukee. He will also continue to oversee the company’s two Minneapolis properties, the Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington and the Crowne Plaza-Northstar. Promoted to area vice president in April 2014, Waldvogel joined the company in 1997 as general manager of the Crowne Plaza-Northstar hotel and was promoted to general manager of the Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington in 2007. Waldvogel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis.
