Jean-Luc Cousty has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel Lutetia

The hotel group The Set Hotels, owner of the Hôtel Lutetia in Paris, has appointed Jean-Luc Cousty to the general management of the emblematic institution of Paris Rive Gauche, which reopenes soon after major renovation work . Jean-Luc Cousty began his career at the Concorde Hotels at the age of 21, and quickly joined the Hôtel Lutetia as Administrative Director. Although he makes a few successful professional sidesteps to other prestigious hotels, his footsteps always brought him back to the Lutetia where, in the mid-90s, he occupied for 3 years the position of Director Of Operations, in charge of Restoration. In 2008, he returned to the position of General Manager where he orchestrated the celebrations of the centenary of the hotel and the preparation of the renovation works which began in 2014. Last March, Cousty ended his mission as General Manager of the Hotel du Palais in Biarritz, the only Palace on the Atlantic Coast. Managing Director since the closure of the Lutetia, in particular, it has ensured the renewal of the Palace label in 2016 and set up a new commercial policy allowing to carry out, with its teams, two years of historical activities. At the age of 54, he returns to his first loves, Hotel Lutetia.

citizenM says hello! to Paris La Défense

Yooma: a brand new hospitality concept settles in Paris

Yooma Hotel has opened its doors on the Seine, in Paris. Introduced as an 'urban lodge', this new hospitality concept aims at competing with AirBnB and other alternative accommodating options by offering 2 to 6-people rooms. "Yooma is not just another hotel. This is the first of its kind, the first to be tailored to the needs of a new consumer generation, made to welcome families and city-breakers," said the concept's founder Pierre Beckerich.

Slo Living Hostels and 1 Hotels arrive in Paris

Slo Living Hostel, a new generation youth hostel, and the eco-friendly 1 Hotels group will settle in the 13th district of Paris as part of the "Aurore" project developed by the real estate company La Compagnie de Phalsbourg. Located near the François Mittérand Library, the two properties will be part of a 12,700 m2 building with atypical architecture mixing wood, bronze and greenery and designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates and Marchi architects. The latter will also house a new cabaret concept as well as a co-working coffee house. This is the first implantation of the upscale and eco-friendly 1 Hotels group in Europe. This new property will offer 140 rooms as well as a restaurant with panoramic view and a gym. As for the Slo Living Hostel, it will offer 179 beds. Launched in 2014 in Lyon, this new generation brand managed by the New Nomads group offers a hybrid and contemporary hostel model.

Christopher Hache has been appointed as Executive Chef at Hotel de Crillon, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts

Christopher Hache, Executive Chef. Christopher forged his style with the most illustrious French Chefs such as Eric Briffard, Alain Senderens and Eric Frechon, whom he was working under when he obtained a 3rd Michelin star. In 2010, he made a distinguished entrance as Executive Chef at the Hotel de Crillon, obtaining his first star in the Michelin Guide at 29, just one year after the reopening of the restaurant Les Ambassadeurs. As of July 5, the chef will reveal his culinary skills to the customers of the Crillon by offering them a gustatory experience inspired by his travels around the world.

Jacques Oudinot has been appointed as Director of Operations at Hotel de Crillon, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts

Jacques Oudinot, Director of Operations. He graduated from the Institute of Higher Studies at Glion and began his career at Meurice Paris in 1995. After several years between Paris, London, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore, he finally settled in Sydney, where he held the position of Director of the Shangri-La Hotel. He accepted the challenge to open the luxury hotel Rosewood Abu Dhabi and in 2014 integrated the team of the Hotel de Crillon, which will benefit from his rich experience.

Estelle Lamotte has been appointed as Director of Food and Beverage at Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel

Estelle Lamotte, Director of Catering. Holder of a Bachelor's degree from the Quercy-Périgord Hotel High School in Souillac, Estelle contributed to the successful opening of the Chef Alain Ducasse's first restaurant in London. With 15 years of experience abroad, she was present for the awarding of two stars on the 2011 Michelin Guide to Joël Robuchon's restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel & Resort in New York.

Sébastien Legrand has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel

Sébastien Legrand, Sales & Marketing Director. He received an MBA from the International School of Savignac and has more than 17 years of experience in the hotel industry. Appointed Commercial Director of the Hotel de Crillon in 2007, he has also held this position in renowned hotels such as Le Royal Monceau and the Hotel Plaza Athénée. In 2014, he moved to London and joined the teams of the Bulgari Hotel as Sales and Marketing Director before returning in 2016 to his first love: the Hôtel de Crillon.

Marc Raffray has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel de Crillon a Rosewood Hotels & Resorts

Marc Raffray, General Manager. After a first experience in Paris and then across the Atlantic, he returned to France in 2003 and joined Four Seasons George V where he acted as Director of Operations for 10 years. Between 2014 and 2016, he became General Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva, before leading the teams at the Hôtel de Crillon in October 2016.
