The quintessential, beachfront Hotel Casa del Mar appoints Gemma Gray as its new executive chef, overseeing menu development, the kitchens of its two on-site restaurants, Catch and Terrazza Lounge, and the banquet department. A native of Salamanca, Spain, Gray is a seasoned chef specializing in seasonal California cuisine, drawing upon influences from her Mediterranean background and utilizing both classic and modern cooking techniques.

Zach Dallessandro has been named Executive Chef at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel

Dallessandro joins Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel from Loews Madison Hotel in Washington, D.C., where he served as Executive Chef/Director of Food and Beverage for almost three years. In his dual role, he assisted in the opening of the Argentinian steakhouse, Rural Society, partnering with Iron Chef Jose Garces. Previously, Dallessandro was Executive Sous Chef at Loews Miami Beach Hotel where he was instrumental in redeveloping the hotel’s amenity program, the Loews Loves Kids program.

Michael Bridges has been named Director of Sales & Marketing at Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows

Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows welcomes Michael Bridges as director, sales & marketing. Bridges began his hospitality career in 2002 at The Ritz Carlton New York, Battery Park. Bridges later joined The Ritz Carlton Dallas as business travel, leisure and entertainment sales manager until 2008 when he joined the Thompson Hotel Group as the associate director of sales for Gild Hall Hotel in New York City. He joined Smyth Tribeca Hotel, New York in 2009 as Director of Sales & Marketing. In 2013, Bridges joined the Viceroy New York in his most recent position as director of sales & marketing and interim general manager.

Jami Kraus has been appointed as Director Of Front Office at Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica

Ms. Kraus, who has years of experience working with front desk operations for successful luxury hotels, is responsible for overseeing all front of house operations, training and managing front office managers and ensuring all front office systems comply with corporate policies and procedures. Ms. Kraus most recently served as the Director of Front Office for Omni Severin in Indianapolis, IN and the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ. She has previously held similar roles at The London West Hollywood and The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, CA. Ms. Kraus began her career at Hyatt Hotel & Resorts in Los Angeles, CA.

Jason Prendergast has been appointed as Executive Chef at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel

A graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in New York, Chef Prendergast oversees all culinary operations at the hotel, including Ocean & Vine, Blue Streak, Papillon Lounge, and the Fireside Lounge. Prior to arriving at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, Chef Prendergast enjoyed a successful five-year gig as Executive Sous Chef at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalow's nationally-acclaimed restaurant, FIG, working side by side with Chef Ray Garcia.

Paul Francisco has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at WCG Hotels

WCG Hotels owns and manages 20 properties in 11 states. Its hotel management arm, Windsor Management Services, provides full-service management for upscale branded properties. Windsor Capital Group (WCG Hotels) announced today that Paul Francisco is joining the firm as Chief Operating Officer, effective Sept. 10. Prior to his leadership role at John Q. Hammons, Francisco was Senior Vice President of Operations for Shaner Hotel Group. He oversaw the operation of 58 highly respected and nationally branded full-service and all-suite extended stay hotels; some that included TGI Fridays restaurants. He supervised assets that both were privately owned and operated under 3rd party management contracts and directed operations over several public-private ventures.

Sarah Best has been promoted to Director of Sales at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel

Best brings 14 years of hospitality experience at some of the country’s finest hotels, resorts and restaurants. In her new role, she will lead the strategic sales efforts and retention programs for the AAA Four Diamond hotel and its 17,000 square feet of recently-renovated meeting space. With particular expertise in leisure sales, Best will maintain her existing clientele relationships, ensuring maximum profitability for the hotel and quality service for its guests. Best is a Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CTTE) and president elect of Los Angeles Business Travel Association. She is also an active participant of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk.

Ronald Taylor has been named Regional Director of Sales at Windsor Hospitality Group

Windsor Hospitality Group and its parent company, Windsor Capital Group, welcome Ronald Taylor as their new Regional Director of Sales, Eastern United States. This month, he assumed WHG’s corporate sales responsibilities for the company’s properties in Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. The 10 properties in Taylor’s region include the brands Embassy Suites, Courtyard by Marriott, Renaissance by Marriott and Residence Inn. He is based in Atlanta, where Taylor and his family have lived for several years. Taylor first started in hospitality sales in Lowell, Massachusetts, 20 years ago. In that time, his regional sales responsibilities have run south to Miami, north to Baltimore and west to Portland, Oregon. Over the last 10 years, he has held various regional and vice president positions with multi-property responsibilities in companies such as Wyndham, HEI Hospitality, Coral Hospitality and Lodgian. Prior to that, I was with Interstate Hotels out of Pittsburg for 10 years.
