Fattal Hotel Group has today announced that it has acquired the leasehold of the iconic Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton from hotel operator and manager, Westmont. The Grand Harbour will be operated by Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland, and expected to rebrand over the coming months.
Hailing from Southampton, Dan joins the hotel with over 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He started his career aged 15 years with work experience for two weeks in a local hotel. This was his light-bulb moment, and from here he decided that his future lay in the hotel sector. Dan worked his way up the ladder, starting as a day porter at the same hotel, and his skills and talent were quickly spotted. He shortly after graduated from the company's Management Training programme. He then went onto to the position of general manager at the Langrish House Hotel in Petersfield, Hampshire.
Legacy Hotels & Resorts has appointed Richard Powell as general manager at New Place Hotel near Southampton, as phase one of the hotel’s 110 guestroom refurbishment programme completes. Richard brings years of senior hotel management experience to his new role. After an education in business administration, Richard spent his formative years as accommodation manager at Bourne Leisure, going on to work in managerial positions at Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants and Premier Inn.
Helen Caters has assumed the role of General Manager at Jurys Inn Southampton effective immediately. Caters will be responsible for managing the 270 bedroom hotel through a £1.75 million refurbishment program that is well underway. . Once complete, the hotel will boast nine revamped meeting rooms and 18 executive bedrooms. A hospitality industry veteran, Caters has previously worked at Hastings Culloden Estate and Spa and Malmaison in Liverpool.
