Sofitel Sydney Wentworth unveils first glimpse into $60 million transformation of iconic hotel

As Australia's first luxury hotel, it has hosted an array of international dignitaries and celebrities since its opening in 1966. 436 newly appointed guest rooms and suites spanning 15 storeys will be a part of the refurbishment. A new hospitality precinct will offer international travellers a taste of Australia's dining scene including two restaurants, two bars and one of Sydney's largest rooftop terraces. The hotel has released new images of what the new transformation will look like. Sofitel Sydney Wentworth has unveiled the first glimpse into its $60 million AUD update, which is set to launch in October 2024 after just ten months of work.

Shaarn Letele has been appointed as General Manager at Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Darling Harbour

Shaarn Letele is the new Hotel General Manager of the soon-to-be-refurbished Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Darling Harbour. During his 15-year career with TFE Hotels, he successfully reopened Travelodge Wellington before returning to Australia to manage Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Central. He has also been part of the pre-opening team at Adina Sydney Airport and St Mark Road Co. Café - the first of the brand- and, most recently, led the team at Vibe Hotel North Sydney.

Andrew Hills has been appointed as General Manager at Novotel Sydney Darling Square

Stepping into the role in April, Andrew will lead both Novotel Sydney Darling Square and its adjoining venue, Pumphouse Sydney. In his position as GM he will be looking to capitalise on the Darling Square precinct's work/life locale, ensuring the ongoing financial success of the property while maintaining a high level of team morale and guest experience.Andrew brings with him an esteemed background in hotel management, having been with Accor for over 26 years. During this time he has held the role of General Manager at a myriad of properties across New South Wales including Mercure Penrith, Mercure Sydney Parramatta, ibis Sydney Darling Harbour and most recently Novotel Sydney Central.

Trilogy Hotels wins first premium hotel operating deal with Panthers Group

Trilogy Hotels and Panthers Group have signed a milestone management agreement where Trilogy Hotels will oversee operations for the five-star Pullman Sydney Penrith. Forming part of a $110m investment from the Panthers Group, the newly-built 153-room Pullman Sydney Penrith opened in August 2023, marking a significant moment for Western Sydney, as Penrith’s first five-star hotel. The hotel has an existing franchise agreement with Accor.Panthers Group is one of Australia’s largest entertainment groups with over 125,000 members across five licensed premises and employs 650 staff. The Group owns the premiership-winning Penrith Panthers NRL Team.
