Elie Sassine has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto

Franck Arnold, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto is pleased to announce the appointment of Elie Sassine to the position of Director of Sales and Marketing. Born in Lebanon, Elie first joined Marriott Hotels & Resorts in 2006 as the Associate Director of Event Management at the Doha Marriott Hotel. He later transferred to The Ritz-Carlton, Sharq Village and Spa where as Director of Sales and Marketing, he led the team to achieve number one RevPAR status in the market. In 2013, Elie’s position was expanded into a cluster role, where he was responsible for successfully merging the sales teams of The Ritz-Carlton, Sharq Village and Spa and The Ritz-Carlton, Doha. During his time in Doha, Elie was also a member of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s Global Advisory Board for Catering. In 2014, Elie joined the team at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto as Director of Sales. Under his leadership, The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto has achieved significant growth and is continually being recognized as one of the leading luxury hotels in the market including such accolades as the Forbes Five-Star and CAA/AAA Five-Diamond awards. In addition to his native Arabic, Elie is also fluent in English and French and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, with a major in Hospitality Management.

Konrad Grstein has been appointed as General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto

Konrad Gstrein has been named General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. A true leader in the industry, this is his sixth appointment with the company. Gstrein's illustrious career started with Four Seasons in 2001 as Assistant Guest Services Manager at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. His journey has been fast paced and nonstop with signature assignments in Sydney and New York, where he worked in several management positions. In 2008, Gstrein was promoted to Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. In 2010, Gstrein headed to Four Seasons Resort Hualalai and then back to Maui in 2012 when he was promoted to Resort Manager. The Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (a Four Seasons Hotel) was Gstrein's most recent assignment, where he was the Hotel Manager since 2014 before making his way to Toronto.

David Connor has been appointed as Regional Vice President, Eastern Canada at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

David Connor joins Fairmont Hotels & Resorts as Regional Vice President, Eastern Canada. He will start his new role as of January 3rd, 2017 and will be based in Montreal. In addition to managing Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, currently undergoing a complete transformation, Mr. Connor will have regional responsibilities and will oversee Fairmont’s iconic hotel portfolio in Québec City, La Malbaie, Tremblant, Montebello and Ottawa.

Mitchell Dubin has been appointed as Senior Director, Enterprise Sales at BirchStreet Systems

With a strong background in hospitality and software, Mitchell Dubin is excited to bring his experience to BirchStreet Systems as Senior Director, Enterprise Sales. As the first employee based in Canada, Mitchell is looking forward to expanding the business as well as managing strategic accounts based in Toronto, Canada, including Four Seasons Hotels and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. Mitchell has over 18 years of Enterprise sales experience managing large and complex accounts and will be a great asset to BirchStreet.

Greg Doman has been named SVP Development North and Central America, Luxury Hotels Americas & Residential at AccorHotels

Greg Doman has been with FRHI for 13 years and has extensive experience in both luxury hotels and branded residential development. In his role, he will lead the development for the North and Central America network, and also work closely with Abel Castro, SVP Development South America, for the development of the luxury and upscale network in South America. Doman will also be responsible for the branded residential business globally for the Group, as AccorHotels continues to see growth potential across its portfolio.
