Spirit Ridge at Nk’Mip Resort In British Columbia To Join The Unbound Collection By Hyatt Brand

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) today announced it has entered into a franchise agreement With Spirit Ridge Owners Association And In December 2017, Spirit Ridge at Nk"Mip Resort will join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand, a global collection of unique and story-worthy stay experiences. Situated 175 miles east of Vancouver in Osoyoos, British Columbia, the luxury Spirit Ridge resort will be the first Canadian property affiliated with The Unbound Collection by Hyatt portfolio and sixth globally for the brand, which spans across North America, Latin America and Europe.

Marriott Announces Opening of Element Calgary Airport in Alberta

Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) announces the grand opening of its first Element hotel in Alberta, third in Canada. Element Calgary Airport is the first hotel in Alberta that is built to LEED® standards (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® ), a prestigious mark of excellence that recognizes sustainability in design, construction and operation. With 18 years of experience working with culinary teams at Fairmont properties and 14 years of experience as an Executive Chef, Geoffrey was also part of the opening team for one of Ottawa’s largest kitchens at Shaw Centre. During his time in Qatar he was responsible for the entire Food and Beverage Operation that included Culinary, Events and 11 of Qatar's top performing Restaurants and Bars, having all been nominated for over 75 culinary and service awards under his leadership. Jean Philip Dupré has been named General Manager of Alt Hotel Ottawa. He joined Group Germain Hotels in 2015 as director of Housekeeping at Alt Hotel Winnipeg and has since held positions as director of Rooms, Alt Hotel Winnipeg; director of Operations, Alt Hotel Ottawa; and Business Development manager at Alt Hotel Winnipeg. Upon taking the helm of Alt Hotel Ottawa in April, the 27-year-old became Group Germain’s youngest General Manager.

Julie Brisebois has stepped into the role of general manager at Alt Hotel Montreal. She began her career at Le Germain Hotel Montreal before taking over as GM of Alt Hotel Quartier DIX30 in Brossard, Que. and then as GM of Alt Hotel Montreal when the hotel opened its doors in 2014. In 2016, Ms Brisebois set out to Ottawa in order to manage the opening of the brand new Alt Hotel, ensuring the general management was in good hands.
