Denise Bradbury has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Algonquin Resort

Officials of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced the appointment of Denise Bradbury to director of sales and marketing for the Algonquin Resort in St. Andrews-by-the Sea, New Brunswick, Canada. Most recently, Bradbury was the director of sales for the New Castle owned and operated, Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax, where she and her team bested the brand average for 2013 Meeting Planner Satisfaction scores and delivered nearly 50 percent of the hotel's annual room nights and 70 percent of the hotel's food and beverage revenues. The Algonquin Resort will reopen this spring following an ambitious, roof to floorboard, renovation in excess of $35 million.

Jane Mackie has been appointed as Vice President, Fairmont Brand at FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI)

In her new role, Mackie will lead the Fairmont brand, developing brand strategy, focusing on refining and articulating the brand positioning and communicating Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand messaging. As part of her responsibilities, Mackie will also define strategies to further enhance Fairmont's competitive position in the luxury hotel segment. She will lead a dedicated brand team in setting brand standards for product, service and communications and will personally lead Fairmont's sustainability strategies for which the brand has long been renowned.

Steve Halliday has been named Recipient of the Annual Hospitality Lifetime Achievement Award at HSMAI British Columbia

Mr. Halliday was selected from among key British Columbia industry influencers for his work defining standards for excellence in hospitality management, as well as his lasting contributions to making Vancouver, Canada’s premier luxury hotel capital. HSMAI BC will present the Lifetime Achievement Award at its annual Holiday Networking event from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. November 27, 2013, at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Prior to his retirement this past August as Managing Director of the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Mr. Halliday spent 26 years in senior positions within Pan Pacific Hotels Group, most notably as Vice President and General Manager of Pan Pacific Vancouver for more than 10 years, first opening the hotel in 1986 for the World's Fair. To celebrate Mr. Halliday’s contributions to the industry, HSMAI BC will make a donation in his name to the BC Hospitality Foundation.

Mark Sergot has been appointed as Senior VP global sales organization at FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI)

Taking on increased responsibility from his previous role as vice president, global sales for the company, Sergot will now focus on the management and administration of FRHI’s worldwide sales network, including both global and hotel sales teams. Specifically, he will concentrate on structure, strategy and standards to ensure all sales teams are fully aligned and integrated worldwide.

Stephanie Segoura has been appointed as General Manager at Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile

Passionate, loyal and committed to providing the finest guest experience a hotel can deliver, Stephanie has stepped into her first General Manager role at Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile. Her appointment is the crowning achievement of her decade-long career with Sofitel, which began as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sofitel London St James in 2003. Over eight years with the St James address, Segoura played key roles in many accomplishments, including leading the Sales Team to position the hotel as a leading 5-star in London and being part of the development team for the creation and launch of So SPA by Sofitel in 2009.

Kevin Frid has been promoted to president, Americas at FRHI

FRHI, the parent company of luxury and upper upscale hotel brands Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts announced several appointments to its senior leadership team. Kevin Frid has been promoted to president, Americas. In this newly created role, Frid will be based in Toronto and will oversee hotel operations for FRHI in the Americas, the company's single largest region with more than 45 hotels under management. Prior to his appointment, Frid served as the company's executive vice president, operations, Americas and Europe.

Michelle Crosby has been appointed as executive vice president and chief human resources officer at FRHI

Michelle Crosby joined the company earlier this year and has been named executive vice president and chief human resources officer. In this role, Crosby directs and has full responsibility for FRHI's human resources function globally. This includes corporate staffing, compensation, benefits, internal communications, talent management and learning. Based in Toronto, Crosby brings over 25 years of experience in human resources consulting and corporate HR leadership to the position.
