NOVUM Hotel Group sails north with niu Welly to open in 2018

The NOVUM Hotel Group intensifies expansion of its millennial brand niu in Northern Germany. Planning permission for this unforgettable hotel was already granted by the beginning of 2017, at the site of the former Karstadt department store on the Holstenstraße. Since then the 113-room hotel has been taking shape piece by piece over a space of almost 3100 square metres. The dynamic hotel group is renting this listed building from the company GVG Grundstücks- und Vermögensverwaltungs Andresen mbh. The hotel"s cast off? Expected by mid 2018.

Hotel Liberty Opening in the Black Forest

For a region renowned for its wine culture, it's fitting that the annual harvest in the sun-dappled vineyards surrounding Offenburg will coincide with the rebirth of another of the area"s cultural landmarks. NOVUM Hotel Group and Citygrove Plan niu Tab in Düsseldorf, Germany

The NOVUM Hotel Group has been growing rapidly since 2004 – and the innovative brand niu has provided an additional boost since March. Recently the number of niu hotels has reached 33. Together with the English investor Citygrove European Developments Ltd, NOVUM Hotel Group is planning to build another hotel at Moscow Street 29. Start of construction - including 438 rooms - is planned for mid-2018. Gleeds Deutschland GmbH has been entrusted with project management. The architects of the building are Siemer Kramer Architect Engineers based in Hamburg.

Anton Wüstefeld has been appointed as General Manager at IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd

With effect from 1 September 2017. Anton Wüstefeld will be guiding the hotel through its pre-opening phase and ensuring a smooth transition to regular operations. Mr. Wüstefeld brings 45 years of professional experience to the table. Most recently, he has completed a highly successful stint of many years in charge at the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport and thus enjoys excellent connections within the Rhine-Main region.

A new IntercityHotel for Frankfurt city centre

The new IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd will open for business by the beginning of 2019. Offering 400 guest rooms, six conference rooms, a bar and a restaurant, it will become the largest hotel to operate under the IntercityHotel brand and will also feature the new interior design concept created by the Italian architect Matteo Thun. The building which will house the hotel is currently under construction as part of a major regeneration scheme for a larger site lying to the South of Frankfurt Main Station, progress on which can be viewed via a special webcam. The IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd will be located within the direct proximity of a new bus station offering inter-city services and near a newly constructed multi-storey public car park.

niu settles in Mannheim

Mannheim proudly presents its new project of the coming year: The NOVUM Hotel Group, together with the project developer GBl AG, is planning a Millennial brand niu hotel in the Seckenheimer street near the historic city center. The opening of this 170-room hotel is scheduled for November 2018. "The strategic selection of our location is the most important part of our dynamic expansion. Mannheim is the economic and cultural center of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and is located directly in the "Dreiländereck", the tri-border area," says David Etmenan, Chief Executive Officer & owner of the NOVUM Hotel Group. Together with GBI AG, the Hamburg group is already planning several hotel projects. "The cooperation has proven to be extremely efficient. We appreciate the mutual, reliable, and open collaboration and plan to expand on this in the future", announced GBI AG CEO Reiner Nittka. The facade is being designed by the Prasch Buken Partner architect"s office and JOI-Design is responsible for the interior design.

Gordon Debus has been appointed as General Manager at Hotel de Rome, a Rocco Forte Hotel

As of August, Gordon Debus will be taking over management of Hotel de Rome, a Rocco Forte Hotel located on Bebelplatz, Berlin. Sir Rocco is delighted to have recruited the experienced Gordon Debus as Peter Kienast’s successor. Debus is a natural born host with experience in some of the world’s most famous establishments and has a long track record of professional success on the international stage. Born in North Rhein-Westfalia, Debus began his career with an apprenticeship as a chef at the Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf. He has since held positions at Mandarin Oriental in New York, London, Hawaii and finally in Munich, where he acted as Director of Food & Beverage. Keeping this title, he started at the Ritz Carlton in Wolfsburg, where he later advanced to Director of Operations and assumed responsibility for the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Most recently, he has worked as the hotel manager of the A-ROSA Sylt since 2011, successfully establishing the resort together with his team of 160 employees. Debus is proud owner of the title “Hotelier Of The Year 2016” awarded by “Der große Restaurant & Hotel Guide.”

Scandic taking over central hotel in Frankfurt, Germany

Scandic Hotels, the largest hotel operator in the Nordic countries, is expanding in Germany with a city hotel in Frankfurt. The company has signed a long-term lease agreement with SH.I.R Real Estate regarding the operation of the current Wyndham Grand Frankfurt. The hotel, which will be called Scandic Frankfurt Museumsufer, will open under Scandic"s management in the beginning of 2018 after a major renovation to expand the restaurant section and create new meeting rooms for 450 conference guests.

AC Hotel Mainz opens as Brand’s First Property in Germany

NOVUM opens first niu in Essen

The opening date for the first niu lifestyle brand hotel is fixed. From 15 November 2017, globetrotters, business people, young and old can check into one of the 145 rooms at the new niu Cobbles in one of Essen"s most central locations at the corner of Kruppstrasse and Friedrichstrasse. The EUROPACENTER Immobiliengruppe has developed office and commercial space on this pocket of land in several construction sections spread over a total of 50,000 m². The NOVUM Hotel Group has leased the new hotel building from EUROPA-CENTER and the interior architects JOI-Design are currently putting the final touches to the design features on behalf of the Group.

Thomas Fischer has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Hotel Munich

45-year old Thomas Fischer has been named as General Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Munich, which will open its doors in December 2017. Himself a native of Munich, Mr. Fischer is able to offer wide-ranging experience in the hotel branch. He most recently worked as a General Manager for Corinthia Hotels & Resorts in London and Budapest, and prior to this fulfilled the same role for Kempinski Hotels & Resorts in cities including Frankfurt and Moscow. Mr. Fischer has completed a Masters degree in Business Administration and the “General Manager Program” offered by Cornell University in the USA.
