St. Regis Hotels Debuts On Venice’s Esteemed Grand Canal

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts today announced the debut of The St. Regis Venice, located steps away from Piazza San Marco and boasting the largest waterfrontage in Venice. The opening follows a two-year, full-scale renovation, restoring the grandeur of the former Grand Hotel Britannia, which opened in 1895 - the same year as the inaugural Venice Biennale. The hotel offers 169 guestrooms and suites, many of which boast private terraces or Juliet balconies for sweeping views of Venice's iconic landmarks. Situated across the Grand Canal from Punta della Dogana, the hotel marries its celebrated heritage with the St. Regis brand's modern design and bespoke service throughout a unique collection of five Venetian palaces, with the oldest dating back to the 17th century. The hotel's spacious secluded garden sets the hotel apart, making it a lifestyle destination where guests and locals alike can enjoy remarkable views of the Grand Canal. The St. Regis Venice marks the brand's third location in Italy, joining The St. Regis Florence and The St. Regis Rome.

Now Open: NH Venezia Rio Novo

Among the streets and canals of the Dorsoduro neighbourhood lies the NH Venezia Rio Novo, a 4-star NH Hotel Group establishment where the history of film-making melds with that of Venice to create a unique experience. The hotel is located in an historical building built between 1957 and 1960, inspired by famous architects such as Angelo Scattolin, Luigi Vietti, Pier Luigi Nervi and Cesare Pea, who designed the façade. It is an example of the rationalist architecture movement in Italy, characterised by clean lines and geometric shapes. Its design was conceptually framed by the world of cinema and its deep connection with the city.

Villa Arnica - Timeless Tyrol

Ensconced in a serene landscape characterized by verdant vineyards, sun-dappled orchards and brooding hills, Villa Arnica emerges as a sublimely private, adults-only retreat in the heart of Lana. The sister property to 1477 Reichhalter, the 10-room hotel bears the trademark historical sensitivity and elegant design for which the Dissertori family's projects are renowned, yet maintains a singular visual identity and concept. Originally built in 1925, the villa's vintage styling and understated glamor evoke a bygone era, while contemporary design pieces and fixtures provide a spark of refreshing modernity. A swimming pool and Pool House surrounded by lush, landscaped grounds complete the picture of an Italian idyll, and the garden-to-table culinary concept is the embodiment of la dolce vita.

Doors re-open at Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese

Five star hotel Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese has re-opened following a complete redesign by French architect and interior designer, Jean-Philippe Nuel. Situated in a former 19th century Roman palazzo, Nuel has taken inspiration from the building's original architecture as well as the landscaped gardens of the adjacent Villa Borghese to bring a fresh look with a nature-inspired colour palette for the city retreat. The 78-room hotel lies on a quaint street in the centre of the city, just moments from iconic landmarks including the Villa Medici, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Edoardo Giuntoli, the hotel's General Manager says, "In a city which is home to some of Europe's most exciting historical buildings, it was essential for the new design to subtly incorporate Rome's rich history along with Sofitel's French elegance. What we've created is a chic fusion of the Italian La Dolce Vita heritage with modern French Art de Vivre." Each of the guest rooms features a Baroque-inspired ceiling that creates the illusion of a blue sky above as well as a signature Sofitel MyBed* bed and marble bathroom complete with Hermès toiletries. The hotel's Prestige Suites, some with private terraces, offer luxury amenities including leather key card holders, a choice of room fragrance and monogrammed pillowcases. Suite guests can also enjoy bespoke experiences, from touring Europe's oldest apothecary to vintage Vespa rides to well-known movie locations.

Chapter Roma - Art and Soul

Since flinging open its elegantly arched doors in May, Chapter Roma has been establishing itself as a vibrant creative hub in the heart of Rome's charming, cobblestone Regola district. Housed within a late-1800s heritage building, the 42-room hotel has been conceived by acclaimed South African designer Tristan du Plessis as an homage to the area's industrial past. Exposed brick, raw steel, brass and copper are set against an elegant canvas of vaulted ceilings, herringbone floors, and midcentury Italian furniture, while graffiti and statement artworks spark conversation throughout the public areas. The guestrooms are provocatively art-free for relaxing reflection—creating an urban oasis in the midst of the bustling capital—and an organic food market is planned to celebrate the surrounding countryside's exquisite natural bounty.
