Fibra Inn opens 2nd AC Hotel by Marriott in Guadalajara with 180 Rooms

Deutsche Bank Mexico, S.A., Banking institution, Trust Division F/1616 or Fibra Inn (BMV: FINN13, ADR OTC: DFBRY) ("Fibra Inn" or "the Company"), an internally-managed Mexican real estate investment trust specializing in the hotel industry serving the business traveler, announced the opening of the AC Hotel Guadalajara Expo, a full service, 180-room hotel. The venue will be operated by the hotel operator, a Fibra Inn-related company.

Paradisus by Meliá Cancun Renovates

Paradisus by Meliá is pleased to announce the completion of a $2.6 million renovation to the brand"s lavish Royal Service Ocean View Suites and exclusive Royal Service Lounge at Paradisus Cancun in Mexico. The large-scale renovation transformed 135 Royal Service Ocean View Suites to boast of an open-air concept with nature-inspired design details, conceptualized and executed by Melia Hotels International"s architect Alvaro Sans. In December 2017, the resort will introduce a second phase of the property refresh with new Royal Service Lagoon View Suites and a private Royal Service Solarium.

With an existing portfolio of 73 hotels, this is Marriott’s largest market in the region and currently, represents 35% of the CALA region’s pipeline with 40 properties in development. Wayu "Light" Wattanakamin has been named Head Restaurant Chef at Sen Lin restaurant at Grand Velas Riviera Maya

In his new role, Chef Light will develop a new menu for the Asian-inspired restaurant, balancing modern and ancient cuisine that plays on new textures and original presentations with the traditional ingredients. The appointment is effective immediately. With 14 years of culinary-industry experience and a native Thai, Wattanakamin began his career after culinary school by opening his own restaurant. He later explored international cuisine at the Sahara Resorts in Kuwait, the Millennium Plaza Hotel in Dubai, the Diplomatic Club in Doha and many more throughout Europe and Malaysia. Most recently, Wattanakamin headed up the Signature Restaurant at Banyan Tree Mayakoba. His experience and talent create a combination of inspiration that stem from recipes passed down from his mom, keeping traditional food and flavors of the Thai Kitchen in every dish.

Rosewood Puebla opens on UNESCO site

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced the 2017 opening of Rosewood Puebla, its fourth property in Mexico and first in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Puebla. Situated 75 miles to the southeast of Mexico City, Puebla is renowned for its colonial architecture, traditional cuisine and colourful ceramics. With ten years of experience in renowned restaurants, Duron’s most recent position was as Chef de Partie Garde Manger and Patîsserie position at Elmer Restaurant, a chic bistro in Paris, France. Beginning his career in Mexico City as kitchen assistant at Les Moustaches, an elegant restaurant specializing in French cuisine, Duron has served as a chef at a number of celebrated restaurants, including La Marine in Noirmoutier, France; Azurmendi Restaurante in Vizcaya, Spain; El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain; and multiple restaurants in Mexico City including, Pujol, Quintonil and Biko. Fluent in French and Spanish, Duron will bring his international expertise and creative vision to his new role at Carolina Restaurant and craft delectable dishes specializing in fine local meats, seafood and fish.

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts Signs with Impulsora and Gran Armee for 120-Room Hotel in Quivira, Los Cabos

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR), today announced it will amplify its presence in Mexico with the signing of a 120-room hotel and 60 residences in Los Cabos, one of Mexico"s fastest-growing luxury destinations.
