Jean-Marc Janod has been named VP Operations for Mexico, Central America & Caribbean at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced two strategic appointments to support the company’s rapidly expanding footprint in Latin America, where the company currently operates 96 hotels in 19 countries, with another 18 properties in the development pipeline. Jean-Marc Janod has been named Vice-President of Operations for Mexico, Central America & Caribbean.

René Aguado Martínez has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Four Seasons Hotel México DF

René has accumulated extensive experience in the world of hotel sales from the Dominican Republic to Dubai and back to Mexico. His career is highlighted by, among many others, his recent position at the Grand Residences Riviera Cancun Hotel, where he participated in the opening team of the property and scored a major success in that market. Earlier in his career, René worked as the director of sales and marketing at Presidente Intercontinental Hotel in Mexico City, where he was noted for a leading role in strengthening the position of the hotel in the city, a challenging market.

Juan Pablo Loza brings more than 15 years of culinary experience to his newly appointed role as Executive Chef of the award-winning Rosewood Mayakoba resort, located in idyllic Riviera Maya. John Volponi has been appointed as General Manager at VieVage Los Cabos

Auberge Resorts Collection, owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, announced today that John Volponi has been appointed General Manager of VieVage Los Cabos. This intimate resort located on the best beachfront stretch in Los Cabos will open in summer 2016 as the first property under Auberge’s new VieVage Hotels and Resorts lifestyle brand. Volponi brings vast experience in Los Cabos to this integral new role, having previously served as general manager of Capella Pedregal Resort, Cabo San Lucas. In his new position at VieVage Los Cabos, Volponi will oversee the management and operations of the new boutique luxury resort nestled within the 1,200-acre Chileno Bay master development, which is poised to bring a vibrant, new resort experience to Los Cabos.

David Gauna has been appointed as General Manager at CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa

Gauna began his Marriott career in 1996 as a housekeeping supervisor at the CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort. There, he held various positions including front office manager and director of room operations. Gauna moved on to resident manager of Los Suenos Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort in Costa Rica and then director of operations at the JW Marriott Mexico City, where his achievements and leadership helped him advance to general manager. In 2011, Gauna successfully opened the Courtyard by Marriott Mexico City Airport as general manager. In 2013, Gauna was awarded General Manager of the Year for the CALA Region as well as the Diamond General Manager Award for the Courtyard brand.

Thierry GUILLOT ESSEC IMHI 1992 has been promoted to Area Vice President & General Manager for the Hyatt Regency Mexico City. Prior to this Thierry was General Manager for the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo in Brazil for close to 5 years. He spent 18 years of his career with Hyatt in various positions such as EAM, GM of the Hyatt Roissy CDG, Director of Rooms and Director of Finance in France and Morocco. Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo, earned the 2014 CEO's Award for Innovation.
