Mandarin Oriental, Canouan, the all-suite, all-villa luxury resort in St. Vincent and The Grenadines, today announces the appointment of Hemal Jain to General Manager. Bringing more than 18 years of hospitality and executive leadership experience to the five-star Caribbean destination, Jain will oversee day-to-day hotel operations, leading the team in delivering operational excellence and innovative guest programs.
Luxury all-inclusive resort leader Sandals Resorts International (SRI) is expanding to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, its eighth island in the Caribbean, and a new destination for the brand, following the acquisition of Buccament Bay Spa and Resort. The resort, which has been shuttered as a failed development since 2016, will be completely transformed to become the fourth Beaches Resorts within the portfolio, joining their award-winning family-friendly resorts in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos.
Mandarin Oriental is delighted to announce the appointment of Mandarin Oriental, Canouan's new General Manager, Duarte Correia. With over 17 years of experience in international hospitality, Correia began his career in London at The Dorchester Hotel. Management roles soon followed at properties including London's Hempel Hotel and The Nam Hai in Vietnam. His first position as General Manager was at the Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa in Mauritius. Most recently, Correia led the rebranding of Essque Zalu Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Under his leadership, the property received many global awards, including Condé Nast Travelers' Readers' Choice Award and the World Luxury Hotel Award. Correia officially joins the Mandarin Oriental, Canouan team on August 6.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that it will rebrand and manage a luxury hotel, currently operating on Canouan island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, from 1 November 2017. Mandarin Oriental, Canouan will be the Group"s first property in the Caribbean.

Petit St. Vincent, the 115-acre private island luxury retreat in the Grenadine island chain in the Caribbean, has appointed Matthew Semark as General Manger of the 22-cottage unplugged hideaway and Anie Ardiani as the Executive Assistant Manager, both effective August 1, 2011.
Mr Kafcsak brings to Raffles Canouan a wealth of experience in operating luxury Caribbean resorts, having held senior positions in properties located in British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands and Turks & Caicos in British West Indies over a period of 30 years.
