Martin Chan has over 18 years of hospitality experience in International luxury Hotel groups, Hyatt International, Mandarin Oriental and Banyan Tree in operational and Sales & Marketing roles in Singapore, China, Indonesia, Maldives and Seychelles. Martin Chan’s most recent role was Director of Operations in Park Avenue Hotels & Suites to oversee the pre-opening phases and post-management operations of the two mixed development projects under the Group.

Christian Hassing has been appointed as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore

With effect from 10 September, 2012, Christian Hassing will succeed Paul Jones as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Singapore and in support of the Group’s growth in the Asia region, he will also take up the appointment of Area Vice President, Operations with responsibilities for Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur and Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. Mr Hassing has more than 35 years in the hospitality industry. He began his career with Mandarin Oriental as the opening General Manager for Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur in 1997, where he was responsible for positioning the property as the city’s premier hotel. For the past eight years he has been General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, overseeing the successful opening and establishment of this award-winning luxury hotel.

Jennifer Yong has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort

Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort, Singapore have announced the appointment of Jennifer Yong as director of sales and marketing. She joins the resort from Shangri-La Hotel, Guilin, in China. Previously, Ms Yong was the director of sales and marketing at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ Regional Sales Office in Beijing. Prior to this, she was assistant director of sales at Traders Hotel, Singapore.

Philip Wong has been appointed as General Manager at Dorsett Regency

With more than 20 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry in Singapore and regional countries, Wong was most recently the GM of a platinum 5-star Sovereign Hotel, Zhanjiang in Guangdong, PRC. He held various senior management positions in hotels in Singapore and Asia, including the Starwood Hotels and Resorts, the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, Shangri-La International Group and Cairnhill Hotels & Resorts. He also worked for Singapore Airlines and DFS. Wong, who has a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Leicester in the UK and diplomas in Management Studies and Hospitality Management, is also a qualified ACTA (Advance Certificate in Training and Assessment) trainer credited with the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).

Tony Chisholm has been appointed as General Manager at Sofitel So Singapore (opening early 2013)

Massimo Moreschini has been appointed as Director of Rooms at Raffles Hotel Singapore

Prior to joining Raffles Hotel, Mr Moreschini served as the Rooms Division Director of Celtic Manor Resort, United Kingdom. The Italian-born national embarked on his career path in the hospitality industry in 1988, and has since garnered many years of invaluable work experience from hotels in the United Kingdom including The Dorchester Hotel and Claridges Hotel, and in Italy. Jean Ow-Yeong has been appointed as APAC Media Relations at TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor has announced the appointment of Jean Ow-Yeong as senior media relations Manager for its Asia Pacific business in Singapore. The role is responsible for leading all media relations across the region, including consumer, corporate and trade. “This new role is in response to TripAdvisor’s continuing expansion plans in Asia Pacific,” said Angus Struthers, senior director of global communications for TripAdvisor. “With the appointment of Jean, we hope to drive greater awareness of the TripAdvisor brand in this region and help our members plan and have the perfect trip on any budget.” TripAdvisor operates sites in ten countries/regions including Australia, Singapore and India. Jean joins TripAdvisor from eBay where she was head of public relations for its Southeast Asia business.
