25Hours Zurich Langstrasse has opened its doors in Northern Switzerland, featuring a design by Berlin-based Studio Aisslinger. Built around the concept of a "pocket universe", the hotel comprises distinctive amenities including a freestanding sheet metal pop-up kiosk, brass sheet module bar, co-working space and vinyl corner.

Stephan Post has been named General Manager at Park Gstaad

Seasoned hotelier Stephan Post has been named as the new General Manager of Park Gstaad. Mr Post joins Park Gstaad this summer from his most recent assignment as General Manager of the Intercontinental Davos, also in Switzerland. Mr Post’s appointment will follow the departure of the hotel’s current General Manager Daniel Ziegler who has led the property since September 2015. Mr Ziegler, who leaves to pursue personal and professional projects, will hand over to Mr Post during the summer season in the mountain resort. Mr Ziegler guided Park Gstaad to one of its most successful winter seasons in 2016-2017, and oversaw the implementation of two new restaurant concepts with Chubut in 2015, and Avenue Montagne in 2016.

Tina Heide has been appointed as General Manager at Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère

Tina Heide will take up the reins at Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère in Davos with effect from 1 July. She will succeed Thomas Kleber, who is leaving the company. Ms. Heide has been employed at the hotel for over five years. During this period, she has already held several leadership positions, including that of Deputy Hotel Director. She is currently Hotel Manager. This means that she is familiar with the hotel and its staff and also has experience of its most important event, the annual World Economic Forum. Ms. Heide previously worked for series of international hotel companies, such as Kempinski, Hilton and Radisson Blu.

Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne Opening June 2017

A Belle Époque jewel will open for meetings and incentives guests in June 2017 after eight years of meticulous restoration and architectural preservation. The 111-year-old, four-star superior Palace Hotel – one of four properties in the Bürgenstock Resort – will feature 108 rooms and suites, a French restaurant, a lobby and lounge, an expansive terrace overlooking Lake Lucerne and 8,751 square feet of meeting facilities.

Mike Wehrle has been appointed as Culinary Director at Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne

Mike Wehrle has been appointed Culinary Director of the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, Switzerland's newest luxury resort that will open this summer. He brings 23 years of experience with Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels in Europe, Southeast Asia and the U.S. Chef Wehrle will be responsible for the resort's 12 restaurants and bars which will feature French cuisine á la Escoffier and César Ritz, Swiss and regional Alpine cuisines, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Thai menus. He will also oversee the healthy cuisine in the spa as well as all banqueting facilities. Over the past 23 years, Chef Wehrle has managed and cooked in the kitchens of luxury hotels and award-winning restaurants in some of the world's renowned culinary capitals. For the last eight years, he served as Executive Chef at The Peninsula Hotels in Bangkok, Chicago and Manila. Prior to that, he was with the 224-room Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa in Interlaken, Switzerland for five years. There, he held the position of chef de cuisine at the Gault Millau 16-point restaurant La Terrasse, and later, was interim executive chef for the luxury resort's five restaurants and bars. In 2000, Mr. Wehrle began his career at the InterContinental London Park Lane as chef de partie. He moved to the Romantikhotel Spielweg in Münstertal, in Germany's Black Forest to be its junior sous chef and pastry chef. Later, he served as chef de partie and then second de chef cuisine at the three Michelin-starred L'Auberge de l'Ill Haeberlin in Illhaeusern, France.
