Thomas Kleber completed a two-year training course at the Steigenberger Academy in Bad Reichenhall and went on to achieve a Masters degree in Hotel Management. Mr. Kleber can look back on more than 30 years of experience and international expertise in the hotel business. He has occupied senior management positions in such countries as Germany, France, Austria and the USA until he settled down in Switzerland with his family many years ago.

Katara Hospitality marks the ‘Topping Out’ of the Royal Savoy Hotel, Lausanne

The Royal Savoy Lausanne, a five-star hotel owned by Katara Hospitality, has celebrated the 'topping out' of its contemporary new building. Katara Hospitality CEO and Board member, Mr. Hamad Al Mulla, joined the Katara Hospitality Switzerland team to officially commemorate the completion of the high-rise shell of Royal Savoy Lausanne's iconic project. The ceremony was also attended by Daniel Brélaz, Mayor of Lausanne, Olivier Français, Head of Real Estate Development in the city, among other officials, dignitaries, contractors, workers and community members from across Lausanne.

As part of Kempinski Hotels' long-term succession planning, the group today announces that Reto Wittwer, President and CEO since 1995, has retired from this role yesterday, and has handed over to his successor, Alejandro Bernabé. Alejandro Bernabé became CEO of Kempinski Hotels effective October 29, 2014.

Jacky brings with him over 25 years of international expertise in the luxury hospitality sector. His impressive journey started with obtaining a degree in a Hotel Management School in Strasbourg. His training began at the Strasbourg Hilton in the operational field before he decided to step into the corporate sales and marketing domain. In 1994, he progressed as the International Commercial Director of the Hospitality and Congress division of the diverse portfolio of Vivendi.

The Chair will focus on the development of research projects to promote innovation and sustainable development in the Food Service industry.

The 18 graduates of the "Master in Hospitality Administration" received their diplomas and various prestigious academic awards during the evening event. Alain Kropf (49) has been named General Manager du of the new hôtel Royal Savoy in Lausanne. Lausanne-born Kropf has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. During his career he worked at the Montreux Palace (Director of Conference & Catering Services/F&B Manager), at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi (Executive Assistant Manager F&B/Resident Manager), at the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana Hotel, in Abu Dhabi (General Manager) and the Shangri-la Jakarta, à Jakarta. Mr. Kropf is a graduate of the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne and holds an MBA of the University of Warwick (UK).

PwC Switzerland has signed an agreement with ReviewPro to license its Global Review IndexTM and other reputation indexes for tens of thousands of hotels in dozens of leading destinations across Europe and the Middle East. The Global Review IndexTM is the hotel industry's online guest satisfaction benchmark for individual hotels or groups of hotels, based on data taken from all major online travel agencies and review sites. It can be used to analyze a hotel or group of hotels and make comparisons between cities.

Les Roches International School Launches a Two-Degree Hospitality Program with Kendall College

Les Roches International School of Hotel Management has launched a two-degree hospitality program with Kendall College, which is ranked No. 1 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S., for preparing students for careers in hospitality management and culinary positions (TNS Global – 2013 Survey). The two-degree program seeks to fulfill the hospitality industry's need for graduates who have both international experience and are multicultural-savvy. According to the TNS survey, more than half (56%) of respondents employed by luxury hotels indicated they would prefer graduates with international experience and only one in five (21%) stated that it would have no influence on their decision.
