Erich Dasen has been appointed as Regional Manager East at Swiss Youth Hostels

Erich Dasen, diplomierter Hotelier SHV, ist gelernter Koch und Absolvent der Hotelfachschule Lausanne. Während seinem beruflichen Werdegang führte er als Direktor verschiedene Hotels in der Schweiz sowie Hotel Resorts in Kenia. Daneben war der St. Galler als Vizepräsident von hotelleriesuisse Ostschweiz tätig und vertrat diese in der Berufsbildungskommission von hotelleriesuisse. Zuletzt führte Erich Dasen als Direktor das 4- Stern-Hotel Walzenhausen in Walzenhausen (AR).

Lausanne, Switzerland's Beau-Rivage Palace Completes First Phase of Major Renovation, Unveiling 37 Newly Renovated Rooms and Suites

The renowned Beau-Rivage Palace, Lausanne's destination for the world's elite and jet-set for over 150 years, has completed the first phase of a major renovation, unveiling 37 new guestrooms and two luxury suites in the hotel's Palace Wing. With 61 additional guestrooms set to be completed in April 2014, the renovation will cost approximately US$28 million and is being overseen by acclaimed interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon.

Markus Binkert has been appointed as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at SWISS

Markus Binkert (41), currently Head of Sales & Marketing Switzerland, Germany & Austria, has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer of SWISS airlines, starting his new duties on 1 May. Markus Binkert joined SWISS in 2005. After initially serving as Head of Global Key Account & Business Sales Switzerland, he moved in 2008 to head up the Product & Services department, where his achievements included introducing the new SWISS long-haul cabin product. Two years later he was appointed Head of Marketing, in which capacity he was a driving force behind the recent sharpening of the SWISS brand profile. He moved to his present position as Head of Sales & Marketing Switzerland, Germany & Austria at the beginning of this year.

Heinz E. Hunkeler has been named General Manager at Kulm Hotel St. Moritz and the Grand Hotel Kronenhof

Hunkeler, the current Director of Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina will take over the management of both the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz and the Grand Hotel Kronenhof. At the same time, Heinz and his wife Jenny Hunkeler will assume joint directorship of the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz. Heinz E. and Jenny Hunkeler replace Dominique N. Godat and his wife Barbara Kälin Godat, who have had a successful 10 years at the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, positioning it as one of the world’s leading hotels. The appointment of Heinz E. and Jenny Hunkeler, both graduates of the Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne, comes after their achievement in elevating the luxurious Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina to the top of the list of Swiss vacation hotels while generating a remarkable increase in occupancy. In addition to holding joint Directorship of the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz with his wife, Heinz E. Hunkeler will also supervise the strategic management of the Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina. This role will include overseeing substantial investments in both properties, such as the construction of staff accommodation and the completion of ongoing renovations of rooms and suites. Both the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz and its sister property Grand Hotel Kronenhof are owned by the Niarchos family.
