Carsten Alexander Kypke has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Chedi Andermatt

The Chedi Andermatt is thrilled to announce the appointment of Carsten Alexander Kypke as executive chef to oversee the property's gastronomy program and The Restaurant, the hotel's dining centerpiece. Chef Kypke brings a new level of creativity and innovation to The Chedi Andermatt's culinary program, as well as leading both in-room dining and catering menu development. Chef Dietmar Sawyere will remain as the mastermind and executive chef of The Japanese Restaurant (1 Michelin star, 17 GaultMillau points) and The Japanese by The Chedi Andermatt (1 Michelin star, 15 GaultMillau points). The experienced power duo, Chef Kypke and Chef Sawyere, will work together to curate fine dining dishes that are second to none in Switzerland.

The first Stay KooooK in western Switzerland is being built in Geneva

The new extended stay house of the Stay KooooK brand is being built on the Rue de la Servette in Geneva. The location couldn't be better: Cornavin main station is a ten-minute walk away. With the tram right in front of the door you are in twenty minutes at the international exhibition center Palexpo, in fifteen minutes at the airport and even faster at the UN headquarters, the Palais des Nations. The city's landmark, the Jet d'Eau on Lake Geneva, is also just a stone's throw away. The ideal place for travelers who want to stay longer in Geneva and feel at home.

Development Reopening

The season gets underway in Davos

The winter season in Davos is up and running. The Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère will be reopening for business on 7 January 2022 and has two exciting offers in store for its guests. "The Sky is the Limit" package will allow holidaymakers to combine a two-night stay including breakfast with a truly breathtaking paragliding flight over Davos. This deal also includes a cheese fondue dinner and an express sports massage. The "MouCuiWay" is a deluxe package for all those who are merely seeking to switch off and pursue a culinary adventure. In this case, special half-board stays are available for between 2 and 4 nights. The highlights comprise a Swiss evening featuring fondue together with a starter and dessert, an Italian-style dinner at which a 'Dolce Vita' 3-course menu will be served and a Spanish experience complete with six mixed tapas and a wine pairing. There is also a "European Journey", which involves an international 4-course menu. An afternoon English high tea is also included. A 50-minute deep relaxation massage session and an express facial will also both ensure that guests are able to unwind.

Hans Heijligers has been appointed as General Manager at InterContinental Genève and Crowne Plaza Geneva

Originally from the Netherlands, Hans Heijligers spent 35 years of his hotel career abroad. He mainly settled in Asia where he led the entire Western region of Japan while serving as Managing Director at InterContinental Osaka for 3 years. Since 2016, he has held the position of Director of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG®) in Japan. As of the start of the 2022 school year, he wanted to return to Europe to get closer to his family and to take up a new challenge: to promote the place of the prestigious and legendary InterContinental Geneva in the eyes of the whole world. He will also ensure the management of the newly renovated 4-star Crowne Plaza Geneva.

Markus Venzin has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer at EHL Group

We are pleased and excited to announce that the EHL Board of Directors has confirmed the appointment of Prof. Markus Venzin as the new Chief Executive Officer for EHL Group. He will take over the helm from Prof. Michel Rochat after his departure. Markus Venzin is an expert on growth strategies with a focus on innovation and corporate entrepreneurship. Born and raised in Switzerland where he obtained his PhD in Strategy and Organization at the Universität St.Gallen (HSG), he is currently Professor of Global Strategy and Dean of Innovation at Università Bocconi in Milan. Markus Venzin combined a solid academic experience and business acumen, but he also demonstrated the personal leadership strengths to carry out the future vision of our Group. His strong reputation for collaborative, people-focused management, entrepreneurial mindset and strategic vision will surely be an asset for our future.
