Julian Lowry has been promoted to General Manager at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort

Karl Hudson, Marriott International Area Vice President for Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar recently announced the appointment of Julian Lowry as General Manager of Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort. Prior to his appointment, Julian was the Executive Assistant Manager of the Resort from October 2015. He joined Le Méridien Phuket in December 2008 as Director of Food & Beverage. Julian oversees operations at the stunning property that is next to a secluded beach and features 470 rooms and suites, 10 restaurants and bars, spa, and an onsite conference centre that was completely renovated in May last year. The Resort is set to renovate its free-form pool – one of two oversized outdoor pools overlooking the Andaman sea – from 22 April to 31 July, in line with its 30th Anniversary celebration in November this year.

Manuel Lang has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Banyan Tree Phuket

Banyan Tree Phuket is pleased to announce the appointment of Manuel Lang as Hotel Manager, effective March 27th 2017. He will be reporting to the Area General Manager, Sriram Kailasam, and will support the team to achieve greater success. Bringing over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Lang joins the well-known Phuket golf resort with a wealth of regional knowledge from his years of managing luxury hotels in Thailand and across Asia. A German native, Mr. Lang is also fluent in both English and French. His journey into the world of luxury hotels started in 1993 and has brought him to Europe, America and finally Asia, 7 years ago. Mr. Lang was appointed General Manager at Cham’s House on Koh Kood island, where he oversaw the operations for pre-opening. He then became the successful General Manager of the Putahracsa Hua Hin, directing all operations including a full renovation and expansion of the resort.

Lyle Lewis has been appointed as General Manager at Conrad Koh Samui

Lyle moves from Conrad Maldives Rangali Island where he was previously the General Manager for the property located in the Indian Ocean and will now be responsible for overseeing of management and operations at Conrad Koh Samui. With a career spanning more than 30 years in the hospitality industry, Lyle brings with him a wealth of experience to Conrad Koh Samui. Lyle joined Hilton in 2014 as general manager for Conrad Maldives Rangali Island following an impressive career in hotel and regional level management. He has worked for many world-renowned hospitality brands assuming numerous positions including the Vice President of Operations in Asia Pacific with Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific.

Marisa Ayu Zainol has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit and Marriott Executive Apartments Sukhumvit Thonglor

With 10 years of experience in the hotel industry, Marisa is responsible for developing and implementing Human Resources’ strategies to accomplish overall business objectives by effectively positioning the hotel in the market and reinforcing the Marriott brand. After graduating with a Master Degree in Business Administration from University Utara Malaysia, she began her hospitality career with a boutique hotel before pursuing her career working for international hotel chains. Pamela Ong has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit and Marriott Executive Apartments Sukhumvit Thonglor

Miss Pamela Ong was recently appointed as the new Director of Sales and Marketing of Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit and Marriott Executive Apartments Sukhumvit Thonglor, overseeing hotel’s sales and marketing efforts in this dynamic cosmopolitan. A veteran hotelier from some of the most prestigious Marriott establishments, Pamela brings with her 18 years of vast expertise in the sales and marketing field, starting from Shangri-La Penang, Malaysia in 1999 to Miri Marriott Resort & Spa and most recently, The Stones – Legian Bali, Marriott’s first Autograph Collection Hotel in Asia Pacific region since 2013. Denis Thouvard has been appointed as General Manager at Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui

Mr Thouvard is French national who firstly joined Centara Hotels and Resorts team in 2009 as General Manager for the opening of Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket. In just a few short years, his expertise in hospitality management, coupled with his contribution and excellent performance earned him the promotion as the Area General Manager for Phuket in 2012, with additional responsibilities to oversee both Centara Villas Phuket and Centra Ashlee Hotel Patong.Mr Thouvard has continuously used his in-depth knowledge and a broad vision to grow the Centara reputation to the worldwide market. Most recently, Mr Thouvard held the position of General Manager at the former Centara Grand West Sands Resort and Villas Phuket.

Michael Schlueter has been appointed as General Manager at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers

Michael has over 30 years of international hospitality management experience having worked in key hotels throughout Europe and Asia. He started his career with Starwood in 1987 at the Sheraton Frankfurt Hotel, Germany, with 1,026 rooms and has since taken leadership roles in Le Meridien, Westin and St Regis properties. With his background in Room Operations, his career has taken him through different hotels in Germany and countries including Poland, Russia and Turkey. Prior to joining the Royal Orchid Sheraton in Bangkok, Thailand, he was Managing Director of The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa and St. Regis Langkawi as well as the Langkawi International Convention Center (LICC), on the Island of Langkawi in Malaysia.
