Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Kamala Bay Ventures Co., Ltd. for a Hyatt Regency hotel in Phuket, Thailand. The hotel will be the first Hyatt-branded resort to open in Phuket, one of Southeast Asia's premier resort destinations. Expected to open in late 2013, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort will join two existing Hyatt-branded hotels in Thailand, including Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok and Hyatt Regency Hua Hin.
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world's largest hotel companies, and Felicity Asset Co. Ltd have signed an agreement to build Holiday Inn & Suites Rayong City Centre, the first IHG property in Rayong.The 300-room property will be situated in the heart of Rayong's city centre adjacent to the Laemtong Shopping Mall. It is conveniently located close to ten of Thailand's major industrial parks including the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Park and Map Ta Phut Industrial Park.Holiday Inn & Suites Rayong City Centre will be the first international branded hotel in Rayong's city centre. The hotel offers a combination of 240 guest rooms and 60 suites tailored to guests staying for longer periods. Ruzza joins Conrad Koh Samui from Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort in South Korea where he held the position of general manager and was responsible for leading the team in improving overall service standards as well as introducing new food and beverage concepts to enhance guest experiences. Prior to that, he was the director of operations at Hilton Colombo in Sri Lanka where he looked after operations and general management, as well as the business development team between 2008 and 2010. Originally from Switzerland, his work has taken him to countries such as India, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam. Ruzza graduated from Swiss Hotel Management School (SHL) in Lucerne. He is an Italian-swiss hotelier who can speak fluently in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish.
