Gokce Karakus has been appointed as Director of Rooms at Swissôtel Al Ghurair

Prior to joining Swissôtel Al Ghurair, Karakus worked with Persona Human Resources as a general manager and partner. Karakus built the entire operational flow of integrating financial and operational software for luxury and upper-class brands including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Worldwide and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.Karakus holds a Masters in Business Administration from Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. Gokce started his journey with Swissôtel brand in 2008 in Swissôtel Buyuk Efes Izmir, Turkey as a receptionist. With his tremendous effort and dedication, he climbed the ladder and worked in various positions as front office supervisor, assistant front office manager and front office manager. Gokce subsequently moved and pioneered the pre-opening operations of Fairmont Quasar Istanbul in 2016 as director of rooms and executive committee member.

Nicolas Villemin has been appointed as Regional Director - Middle East & North Africa at Preferred Hotels & Resorts

Preferred Hotels & Resorts appoints Nicolas Villemin as regional director for Middle East & North Africa. In his new role, Villemin will bring 20 years of industry experience. As regional director, he will be based in Dubai and will oversee the efforts to maintain the retention and expansion of the brand's Middle Eastern and North African portfolio. Preffered Hotels' executive vice president of South Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Australasia Saurabh Rai said Villemin's role will also include looking into gap markets in the region for the company. Villemin has worked in the Middle East for more than 10 years and has previously served in senior executive positions and consultancy roles for luxury hotel brands such as Viceroy, Shangri-La and Habtoor Hospitality. Originally from Switzerland, Villemin is fluent in English, French and Portuguese.

DAMAC Properties and Radisson Hotel Group to Launch Radisson Hotel, Dubai DAMAC Hills

DAMAC Properties has signed a landmark agreement with Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) to develop and launch the 'Radisson Hotel, Dubai DAMAC Hills', its first Radisson-branded property worldwide located on a golf course, the Trump International Golf Club Dubai at DAMAC Hills. The planned 481-key hotel property comprises of one and two-bedroom units, and offers investors an opportunity to purchase units operated by the Radisson Hotel Group, with strong returns of up to six percent guaranteed for the first three years on their property investment.

Nelson Riffard has been appointed as Director of Revenue Management at Fairmont Dubai

Nelson joins Fairmont Dubai from his most recent role as Cluster Revenue Manager at the IHG Festival City in Dubai, a position he held since 2015. Whilst in this role, Nelson has had a number of significant achievements, including obtaining the highest Revenue Generation Index (RGI) since the opening of the cluster properties. Prior to this role, he held the Cluster Revenue Manager's position overseeing 7 AccorHotels' properties in Dubai and in 2012 worked as well for AccorHotels' regional office in Marseille, France.

Zlatko Gersak has been appointed as Executive Chef at Ajman Hotel

A Croatian national, Zlatko Gersak has an extensive culinary background with more than 23 years' experience in the hospitality industry. His last assignment was an Executive Sous-Chef in Al Ain Rotana where he was in charge of 55 culinary personnel and overlooking seven food & beverage outlets. Over the years he has taken various positions with luxury cruise liner as well as 5-star brands such as Hilton, Le Meridien, Kempinski and recently Rotana properties.

Mohammad Sbeitani has been appointed as Director of Human Resources at Ajman Hotel

A Canadian/Jordanian national, his hospitality career now spans more than 25 years; his last position was Human Resources Director with Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Dead Sea, Jordan.Prior to his last assignment, he worked with brands such as Kempinski, Movenpick, Taj Palace, and Radisson. He holds post graduate certificate in Human Resources Management in addition to his Master's Degree in Political Science.In this role, Sbeitani will partner with other department heads and he will lead and develop the HR strategy, programmes and oversee all aspects of hotel's human resources operations for almost 260 employees for Ajman Hotel.
