Native Manchester Opens

Located in the newly transformed Ducie Street Warehouse on the edge of Manchester's Northern Quarter, boutique aparthotel brand Native, has just opened the doors to its latest outpost. Occupying eight floors of a vast Grade II listed former Victorian warehouse, Native Manchester will be the UK's largest aparthotel, spanning 180,000 square feet. The beautifully designed 166 apartments will offer a variety of living spaces from studios and one beds to two-bedroom penthouses, complete with private garden terraces. Re-imagined by Archer Humphryes Architects, the firm behind Chiltern Firehouse and the new Standard Hotel in London, the building's industrial heritage is prominent throughout. With towering cast-iron columns, a vast central atrium and exposed barrel arched brickwork, each apartment features a fully equipped kitchen, bespoke Conran furniture and magnificent parquet flooring. Also opening at Ducie Street Warehouse is independently operated CULTUREPLEX - a ground floor social hub from leading London restauranteurs David Waddington and Pablo Flack. CULTUREPLEX includes an 80-seater restaurant, Bistrotheque, a Mini-Cini, coffee counter and flexible events and work spaces, creating a unique community centre and all-day hangout. Award-wining fitness brand, BLOK, has also opened its first studio outside of London in a part of the warehouse's ground floor space. Set across three impressive studios and led by Manchester's leading instructors, classes at BLOK will span a variety of over 25 fitness disciplines, giving guests choice, no matter how they choose to train.

Market Street Hotel - Prestige meets progress

Set behind a striking façade of Scottish stone at the point where Edinburgh's historic Old Town meets the New Town, Market Street Hotel emerges as a cultural gateway to both the city's storied past and its pulse-quickening present. Award-winning design studio FG Stijl have devised the visual concept of the 98-room hotel to pay homage to the capital's character and historic narrative, while simultaneously exploring Scottish cosmopolitanism. Cracked, earthen walls are juxtaposed against the clean, minimalist lines of contemporary furnishings, and unexpected bursts of traditional tartans and heritage fabrics provide an experiential element to the hotel's aesthetic. Should guests feel the need for even deeper immersion in this most singular of urban locations, the property's spectacular rooftop Champagne lounge, Nor' Loft, offers views across the city's historic landscape and celebrated icons.
