Brian R. Wells has been named General Manager at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Brian R. Wells general manager for The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, which is part of Curio - A Collection by Hilton. Brian Wells brings 25 years of exemplary leadership experience as general manager, in food and beverage and within property operations to his new position at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. He was most recently general manager for the Hilton Durham located in Durham, North Carolina. During his tenure there, the hotel received numerous awards of excellence from the Hilton brand and TripAdvisor among many others. Mr. Wells has also served as area general manager for the Nathan Hale Inn & Conference Center, a full-service hotel complementing the University of Connecticut, and as task force general manager for the Sheraton Colonial of Wakefield, Massachusetts.

Brett Schoenfield has been appointed as Managing Director at Omni The Homestead Resort

The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Va., has announced the appointment of Brett Schoenfield as managing director. An accomplished leader with more than 20 years of industry experience, the appointment brings Schoenfield back to Hot Springs after previously working at the resort for 12 years. In his new role, Schoenfield oversees all operations of the iconic, 250 year-old resort.

James E. Mikolaichik has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Hilton Grand Vacations

Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. (NYSE:HLT) (“Hilton”) announced today the appointment of James E. Mikolaichik as chief financial officer (CFO) of Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) in advance of the planned separation of the timeshare business from Hilton later this year. Mikolaichik will oversee the company’s finance and accounting organizations and will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of HGV’s corporate and financial strategies. His appointment as CFO will be effective in August 2016, and he will report to Mark Wang, president and chief executive officer, Hilton Grand Vacations.

Thomas J. Baltimore has been named President and Chief Executive Officer at Park Hotels & Resorts (Hilton REIT)

In February 2016, Hilton Worldwide announced plans to spin-off its timeshare and real estate businesses, creating three market-leading, independent public companies. Baltimore’s appointment as CEO of the planned REIT is effective May 16. Baltimore will report to Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton Worldwide, and Dell’Orto will continue to serve as senior vice president and treasurer for Hilton Worldwide. Baltimore most recently served as president and CEO of RLJ Lodging Trust (NYSE: RLJ), a publicly traded real estate investment trust that he co-founded with Robert L. Johnson. He has led RLJ since its IPO in 2011 and its predecessor entities since 2000. RLJ currently owns 125 hotels in major markets in North America, with more than 20,900 guest rooms and a portfolio value in excess of $4 billion. Prior to RLJ, Baltimore was with Hilton Hotels Corporation as vice president, development and finance, and vice president, gaming development. He also served as vice president, business development for Host Marriott Services, and he worked for Marriott Corporation in various positions. Baltimore holds a Master of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the McIntire School, both from the University of Virginia. He also serves as a director of Prudential Financial (NYSE: PRU) and Duke Realty (NYSE: DRE).

Dennis Marcinik has been appointed as Resort Manager at Lansdowne Resort

Dennis Marcinik is moving to Lansdowne Resort to serve as the new Resort Manager! Dennis joins comes from Wild Dunes Resort where he was the Director of Operations while also serving in Interim GM roles at Tarrytown House, Oak Brook Hills Resort and the Inn & Spa at Loretto. Prior to Destination Hotels, Dennis had an extensive and prosperous career in Food & Beverage including stints with Omni Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Lettuce Entertain You. Dennis is originally from San Antonio, TX, but called DC home for a number of years while working for Marriott Hotels. He has friends and family in the DC area including his daughter Meredith, who will be living and working in Maryland as she embarks on her career as an attorney. Dennis will be joined by his wife of 32 years, Kris, and they look forward to traveling (regionally and abroad), dining & drinking good wines - including Virginia wines! Dana McGrath Mayberry has been appointed as General Manager at Appomattox Inn and Suites

Sherry Abedi has been named General Manager at Quirk Hotel

Before accepting the position at Quirk Hotel, Abedi was the Resort Manager at Lansdowne Resort, a Destination Resort, which is a AAA Four Diamond resort in Leesburg, Virginia. Skip James has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Lansdowne Resort, A Destination Hotel

James is an accomplished leader within the hospitality industry who has more than 20 years of experience working for established and well known hotels and resorts across the United States. Prior to joining Lansdowne Resort, by Destination Hotels, James served as Director of Sales and Marketing at Turnberry Isle Miami. Prior to that assignment, James worked within the Destination Hotels family as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sunriver Resort in Bend, Oregon.

Sam Peraza has been named General Manager at Homewood Suites Virginia Beach

Officials of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today named Sam Peraza general manager of the 122-suite Homewood Suites Virginia Beach. Most recently, Peraza was the general manager of the Homewood Suites in Williamsburg, Va., where his hotel was the top performing hotel in its category for two consecutive years according to the STAR report. Peraza began his career with the Hampton Inn and Suites in Williamsburg, Va., and twice was the manager of the year at the Omni Newport News Hotel where he was the director of sales and marketing.

Damon Strickland has been appointed as General Manager at The Stonewall Jackson Hotel & Conference Center

Mr. Strickland succeeds Carol Simon as General Manager. Ms. Simon is retiring after 28 years with Crestline Hotels & Resorts including her position as the Stonewall Jackson's General Manager since its pre-opening phase in 2005. Mr. Strickland joins the Stonewall Jackson from his position as General Manager of the dual complex Courtyard by Marriott Suffolk Chesapeake and TownePlace Suites Suffolk Chesapeake in Suffolk VA, also Crestline managed hotels. He brings more than 12 years of hospitality operations experience having also held operations positions with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Hilton Hotels. Mr. Strickland holds a BS in Hospitality and Tourism from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
