Dan Dolan has been appointed as General Manager at The Abbey Resort & Avani Spa

The Abbey Resort & Avani Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Dolan to General Manager of Lake Geneva's only lakeside full service resort. Dan brings a wealth of executive leadership along with a diverse background in hospitality sales and marketing. Prior to taking on this operations role, Dolan was the Interim General Manager and the Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Benchmark Global Hospitality, The Abbey Resort's management company.

William Burpitt has been appointed as General Manager at Arlo Williamsburg

Arlo Hotels has appointed William Burpitt as General Manager of Arlo Williamsburg, the brand's latest property to join the portfolio. Coming from a family of hotel owners and operators in the United Kingdom, Burpitt brings to Arlo not only his personal hospitality experience but also his academics from his time studying hospitality management at Bournemouth University. He continued his career by moving overseas to work for various hotel brands throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean, including Belmond hotels in Charleston, South Carolina, and St. Martin and other hotels in Miami, New England and NYC.

Richard Tucker has been promoted to General Manager at Arlo SoHo

Richard Tucker, formerly Hotel Manager of Arlo Midtown, has been promoted to General Manager of Arlo SoHo. Throughout his distinguished career spanning over a decade, Tucker has left an indelible mark on each role he has undertaken. He has experience working with hotels ranging from 21 to 400+ keys, including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Thompson Hotels, Highgate, Sightline Hospitality and Destination Hotels & Resorts. In his most recent role at Arlo Midtown, Tucker was instrumental in shaping the hotel's identity as a leading New York City hospitality destination and experience. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Tucker is an active participant in Arlo Hotels' Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee and initiatives. His commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace has been driving positive change within the organization and on-property, reflecting his enduring legacy as a leader with a social conscience.

Mark Butler has been promoted to General Manager at Arlo Midtown

Replacing Stokes at Arlo Midtown and joining Arlo's promotion ranks is Mark Butler, formerly General Manager of Arlo NoMad. Butler joined Arlo NoMad in March 2021, where he oversaw the hotel's recovery from the pandemic, rebuilding corporate and leisure guest relationships and experience, which resulted in record annual average daily rates and gross operating profits. A native of Ireland, Butler has been recognized for developing and promoting team members and building executive teams, guest satisfaction and profitability. His two decades of global hospitality experience includes humble beginnings at Conrad hotels in Dublin and Chicago before joining Fitzpatrick New York in Manhattan and working under John Fitzpatrick, two-time Chairman of the Hotel Association of New York City. Among other international hospitality groups and hotels, Butler worked at the five-star Sofitel New York, Dalata Hotel Group (Ireland's largest hotel group) and Hilton Times Square until its closing in October 2020 due to COVID.

Brittany Ostrander has been promoted to Director of Group Sales at The Newbury Boston

In her new role as Director of Group Sales, Brittany Ostrander will oversee the group sales team strategy including day-to-day office operation. Ms Ostrander joined The Newbury Boston shortly after its reopening as Group Sales Manager and quickly moved into the role of Assistant Director of Group Sales. Prior to joining The Newbury, she worked at a number of luxury hotels in Boston, including Encore Boston Harbor, Boston Harbor Hotel and Ritz-Carlton Boston. She is a graduate of Florida State University.

Melissa Kelly has been promoted to Director of Sales at The Newbury Boston

Melissa Kelly's appointment to Director of Sales, where she will oversee the entire sales strategy for the property, represents the culmination of nearly 12 years of work with The Newbury Boston. Starting as Senior Group Sales Manager at The Taj Boston, Ms Kelly has held a variety of progressive sales leadership roles at the Hotel. She was part of the opening team for The Newbury Boston and worked throughout the Hotel's transformation and launch in the market. Prior to her work at The Newbury, Ms Kelly was Group Sales Manager at The Hawthorne Hotel. She is a graduate of Salem State University.

Laura Ward has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Newbury Boston

As Director of Sales and Marketing, Laura Ward will develop sales strategies and lead the sales, catering and event service team, as well as direct the marketing efforts for the Hotel. Ms Ward joins The Newbury from her most recent position as Director of Sales and Marketing at Intercontinental Boston. She brings with her an impressive array of luxury hotel experience, including sales leadership roles at Intercontinental Boston, Boston Harbor Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel Boston, and more. She is a graduate of Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Nicole Young has been promoted to VP Revenue Management and Distribution, Global at Rosewood Hotel Group

Nicole Young has been promoted to Vice President, Revenue Management and Distribution, Global. Nicole joined Rosewood Hotel Group in 2017 to drive revenue through the optimization of revenue management and maximizing distribution opportunities across key traditional and emerging channels. In her new position, she will also act as the regional business expert for the Americas while leading the charge in advancing global revenue management and distribution processes and systems.
