Matt Cowden has been appointed as General Manager at 21c Museum Hotel

Louisville, Ky. -- 21c Museum Hotels has named Matt R. Cowden general manager of 21c Museum Hotel Oklahoma City, currently under construction at the historic Fred Jones Assembly Plant, located at 900 W Main Street and set to open Summer 2016. Cowden comes to 21c with a deep knowledge of downtown Oklahoma City and more than 20 years of hospitality industry experience. He started his career with Marriott before joining Starwood Hotels, first as director of sales and marketing and then as general manager. has promoted McKenna Luke to Vice President. Ben Goh has been appointed as Assistant Dean and Director at The School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration at Oklahoma State University

Goh is joining OSU from Texas Tech University where he is a professor in restaurant, hotel and institutional management and has more than 20 years in academic administration. He has served as associate dean of the College of Human Sciences and as associate department chair for the department of nutrition, hospitality and retailing from 1992 – 2001. During that time, he led the establishment of the doctoral program in hospitality administration.

Brett Sundstrom has been appointed as General Manager at the Skirvin Hilton

Sundstrom began his career with Marcus Hotels & Resorts in 2008 as a project manager in the corporate office. While at Marcus Hotels, he served as general manager of Xona Resort & Suites in Scottsdale, Ariz. and managing director of the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Originally from the Oklahoma area, he most recently served as interim general manager of the Skirvin Hilton prior to his promotion. Sundstrom is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in hotel and management and a minor in business.

Roseann Grippo has been appointed as General Manager at Skirvin Hilton Hotel

Grippo brings 24 years of hospitality experience to Marcus Hotels & Resorts. A long-time veteran of the Hawaii hotel industry, she most recently served as general manager of the legendary Kahala Hotel & Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014. Under her leadership, The Kahala received numerous awards from major tourism publications and organizations, including Forbes Travel Guide, Conde Nast, Travel + Leisure and TripAdvisor. She also initiated the hotel’s first James Beard Foundation Dinner, which resulted in funding to establish a new scholarship in the hotel’s name at the Culinary Arts School at Kapiolani Community College. Prior to joining The Kahala, Grippo worked with Starwood Hotels and Resorts for nearly a decade in positions including manager of the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, Starwood’s flagship property in Hawaii, and director of food and beverage for Starwood in Hawaii and French Polynesia. Her career also includes 13 years with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.

Todd Scholl has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Tulsa

Todd currently serves as director of sales and marketing for Hyatt Regency in Tulsa where he oversees the group sales, catering and revenue functions for the hotel. In December 2004, he was appointed director of sales and marketing for The Peabody Little Rock, a Forbes Four Star and a AAA Four-Diamond property within the portfolio of Peabody Hotels, and Preferred Hotels & Resorts where he serves for more than six years. In his role there, he led efforts to record revenues and achieving the Forbes Four Star rating along with creating the largest New Year’s Eve Party in Arkansas.

David W. Davis has been appointed as General Manager at Atherton Hotel and Ranchers Club

Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in restaurant, hotel and institutional management from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in hospitality management from the University of Houston. He is pursuing a doctoral degree at OSU with research emphasis on revenue and sales management. In addition to his role as general manager, Davis is responsible for teaching and overseeing students in two HRAD laboratories – The Atherton and The Ranchers Club. School of Hotel and Restaurant Administrator Director Bill Ryan said he is pleased Davis has taken on the responsibility of general manager. Before coming to OSU, Davis worked for John Q. Hammons Hotels and Resorts. He served as the general manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites in Springdale, Ark., the front office manager of the Coral Springs Marriott Hotel in Coral Springs, Fla., and the director of revenue management and sales manager at the Radisson Hotel in Houston. In 2006, Davis received the Hilton Corporate award nomination for Global Sales Partner of the Year for his work with Tyson foods, and he earned the Marriott International Conversion of the Year award for his part in the Coral Springs hotel’s conversion l from a Radisson to a Marriott in 2002.
