Cambria Welcomes First Hotel in Milwaukee

Cambria Hotels, an upscale brand franchised by Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE:CHH), celebrated its continued expansion in Wisconsin with the grand opening of the Cambria Hotel Milwaukee Downtown. The four-story, 132-room hotel is the brand's first location in Milwaukee and the third Cambria hotel to open in the state, joining the Cambria Hotel Appleton and the Cambria Hotel Madison East. Representatives from Choice Hotels, developer Murphy Development Group, management company Concord Hospitality and local dignitaries attended the grand opening to commemorate the occasion.

Christine Lunz has been appointed as Director of Events at Hilton Milwaukee City Center

A Wisconsin native, Lunz brings over 16 years of experience in hotel event management to the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. In her most recent role, she served as the director of catering for the Marriott Milwaukee West for seven years. She was also the director of catering and conference services for three years at The Clock Tower Resort & Conference Center in Rockford, Ill. Lunz began her career and passion for hotel events at The Abbey Resort in Lake Geneva, Wis. An FTD-certified floral designer, Lunz is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

David Bodette has been appointed as General Manager at Arts Hotel, Saint Kate

Following its grand debut, Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel, Milwaukee's first-of-its kind independent arts hotel, announced today the appointment of arts and luxury hotel veteran David Bodette as general manager. Bodette, a sculptor in his free time, oversees daily operations of the 219-room hotel and arts experience. In this lead role, he is supported by a passionate cast of 200 associates, collaborates with community influencers and artists, helps shape the guest experience and oversees all food and beverage operations, including the hotel's five dining venues. He comes to Saint Kate following a legacy career managing some of the country's most prestigious luxury and historic hotels, such as Ritz-Carlton properties, The Queen Mary Hotel in Long Beach, Calif. and The Langham Hotel in Boston, as well as helping open unique new concepts, including The ART hotel in Denver, Colo., a luxury boutique arts-centric property.

Set to open Winter 2020-21: Hilton Garden Inn Madison, WI

Mortenson Development has announced that it has completed the land purchase and hotel brand negotiations and that construction has started on the seven-story, 176-room Hilton Garden Inn Madison development project, located at 770 Regent Street. The site is strategically positioned adjacent to both the Southwest Commuter Bike Path and East Campus Mall, which connect pedestrians to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, providing convenient access to campus facilities including the Kohl Center, an arena and athletics center; Memorial Union, the student union on Lake Mendota; and Camp Randall Stadium, home to the Wisconsin Badgers football team.
