Christopher Adkins has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

A long-time resident of Florida's Gulf Coast, Chris has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry — and over 20 with Marriott International, including leadership positions at Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance and Marriot brand hotels. In his role, he will lead the overall sales efforts, as well as create and execute a marketing plan that lays the foundation for the hotel's success.

Ron McAnaugh has been appointed as Area General Manager at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street and Tampa Marriott Water Street

A Marriott veteran of more than 30 years, McAnaugh comes to the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street with a wealth of hospitality experience. Prior to his role as Area General Manager at sister property Tampa Marriott Water Street, Ron served as Hotel Manager for Orlando World Center Marriott, Marriott's largest hotel. In addition to his Marriott responsibilities, McAnaugh just wrapped his term as Chairman of Visit Tampa Bay, and is now President of the Hillsborough County Hotel & Motel Association (HCHMA) and on the board for Tampa's Friends of the Riverwalk organization.

Reynaldo Ramirez has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hilton Aventura Miami

A Florida native, Ramirez brings 24 years of well-rounded, South Florida sales industry knowledge to Hilton Aventura Miami, having held various management positions at a variety of high-profile hotel brands, including Hilton, Marriott, Wyndham, InterContinental Hotel Group and more. Throughout his career he has worked with Fiesta Americana Hotels & Resorts, Victor Hotels, and a variety of resorts managed by Interval International, where he was responsible for developing sales, marketing and revenue strategies to reach specific revenue goals year over year. Most recently, Ramirez served as complex director of sales and marketing at AC Marriott Aventura and Aloft Miami Aventura. As part of the opening team for Aloft Aventura, Ramirez has first-hand experience with spearheading hotel openings in the Aventura market. At Hilton Aventura Miami, Ramirez will be responsible for overseeing sales and marketing, developing strategies for revenue growth, managing a team of sales associates, and working with marketing teams to ensure consistent media messaging and social communication strategy.

Kai Fischer has been appointed as General Manager at Hilton Aventura Miami

A seasoned hospitality executive, Fischer opened the Marriott Castle Harbour Bermuda early in his career as the food and beverage complex manager. From there he took on a variety of roles at Marriott's headquarters in Bethesda, MD, and then worked his way up through numerous operational, sales and general manager positions including the Marriott Dallas/Fort Worth Westlake and Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center. Fischer left Dallas and moved on to New York to become the multi-property director of sales and marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he played an instrumental role in the $180 million renovation of Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel. For the past seven years Fischer has served as the general manager of Hilton Westchester in New York, known for their spacious event venues and farm-to-table culinary approach. Now taking the helm of the new Hilton Aventura Miami, Fischer will oversee all operations, be responsible for staff development, financial planning, sales and revenue management, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.

Javier Marquis has been appointed as Director of Sales & Marketing at AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach

Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG) has announced the hiring of Javier Marquis, CHRM, as director of sales and marketing of the soon-to-open AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach. Marquis will oversee all marketing efforts and manage group and business markets for the property, which is scheduled to open Q1 2021. The 10-story, 171-room property is currently being constructed along the iconic Florida State Road A1A in Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida (3029 Alhambra Street), just steps from the Atlantic Ocean and 23 miles of sandy beach, offering 1,000 square feet of meeting space and the AC's signature Media Library work center. Owned by Miami-based real estate investment and development company Key International, the AC by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Beach is the city's first AC brand hotel.

Hyatt and Banyan Cay Development Announce Plans for Banyan Cay Resort & Golf, a Destination Hotel

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE:H) announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with Banyan Cay Development (BCD) to develop Banyan Cay Resort & Golf, a Destination Hotel. First Atwell Suites™ hotel now under construction in Miami

IHG® Hotels & Resorts, one of the world's leading hotel companies, announced today that the first Atwell Suites™ hotel is now under construction in Miami. Expected to open by summer 2021, the first Atwell Suites will be a 90-room hotel located in Brickell, an urban neighborhood home to Miami and South Florida's financial district, as well as many foreign consulates. The hotel is part of a new high-rise, mixed-use property which will also include a new 140-room Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell. This property is owned by Francisco Arocha, Pedro F. Villar, Albert Ovadia and Sunview Companies.

Kimpton Key West Adds Ella’s Cottages to Collection

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announces the November 15 opening of Ella's Cottages, the fourth of five properties to open in the new Kimpton Key West collection located throughout the island's Old Town historic district. Now Open: White Elephant Palm Beach

New England Development is thrilled to announce that White Elephant Palm Beach opens today in Palm Beach, Florida. The 32-room property is housed in the former Bradley Park Hotel - originally constructed in 1924 as one of the first resorts on Palm Beach's Main Street. During its century-long history, it was initially owned by Colonel Edward R. Bradley, who ran a private and celebrated Beach Club casino on land that is today Bradley Park. For more than 20 years, the hotel served as a magnet for business tycoons and high rollers who frequented the salon. Over the decades that followed, the hotel remained a mainstay for seasonal visitors. In 1980, in part to its architectural significance, the hotel was listed with the Landmark Preservation Commission of Palm Beach.
