Club Med to open its first resort in Vietnam

Club Med, the pioneer of the Premium All-Inclusive holiday concept, has announced plans to open Club Med Ho Tram, its first resort in Vietnam. Located in Vung Tau Province, in southern Vietnam, the premium resort is located near Ho Chi Minh City and is a 90 minute drive from Ho Chi Minh international airport. Guests will also have easy access to the new resort once the new and upcoming Long Thanh International Airport is completed. A premium holiday resort for families and other guests, Club Med Ho Tram is scheduled to open in 2021 and will offer guests an unprecedented cultural and natural experience.

Carlson Rezidor Signs Management Contract for Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world"s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, announced today the signing of a management contract with Phu Quoc Tourist Investment & Development JS Company to develop Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc. Scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2017, the new build hotel, with 522 rooms and suites, is set to be a focal point of Phu Quoc. The signing marks the second resort in Vietnam for the Group, following Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh Bay, slated to open in 2018.

E.J. MacEwan has been appointed as General Manager at PARKROYAL Saigon

E.J. MacEwan joined Pan Pacific Hotels Group as General Manager of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka from 1997 to 1999, a post which he returned to in 2009 after successful terms as General Manager of Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur and Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta. E.J. is an industry veteran with experience spanning rooms, F&B and catering in the United States and the Middle East before he joined the Group. Despite the challenging environment, E.J. was instrumental in establishing the reputation of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka as one of the most popular five-star hotels in Bangladesh, with particular success at cementing it as the hotel of choice for international events and diplomatic missions. E.J.’s new role will see him leading the 186-room PARKROYAL Saigon, which is recognised by Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of the five “Top 4-Star Hotels” in the city. The hotel is also located close to the Central Business District, the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre, as well as District 1, the city’s business, shopping and entertainment hub.

Regent signs agreement to Develop and Manage Regent Phu Quoc, Vietnam

Regent Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with prominent Vietnamese property developer BIM Group today in Hanoi, to manage Regent Phu Quoc, a luxury hotel and residential development in the heart of Phu Quoc, Vietnam"s largest island. The signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman of Regent Hotels Group, Steven Pan, and Doan Quoc Viet, Chairman of BIM Group. Joseph Colina has been appointed as executive assistant manager at Sofitel Legend Metropole

Joseph Colina has been appointed as Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi's new executive assistant manager. Colina recently moved to Hanoi from Washington DC, where he was previously the director of operations at Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square. The American began his career as director of guest services at Sofitel Minneapolis in 2005, before becoming the director of guest services at Sofitel Chicago Water Tower and the director of rooms at Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square.

Pieter Van Der Hoeven has been appointed as area general manager for Vietnam at Minor Hotels International

Minor Hotels has appointed Pieter van der Hoeven as area general manager for Vietnam. Based out of Anantara Hoi An Resort & Spa, van der Hoeven will oversee operational and sales functions across all Minor Hotels brands in Vietnam. He will report to Thomas Meier, senior vice president, hotel operations, Asia. Prior to joining Minor Hotels, the seasoned Australian hotelier has been with Outrigger since 2008 in various leadership positions across Asia-Pacific, except for between July 2013 and December 2014 when he was general manager with Raffles Hotels in Cambodia. His other previous experience includes senior roles with Anantara Hua Hin Resort and Evason Hua Hin Resort, Evason Ana Mandara in Vietnam as well as The Peninsula Bangkok.

Vietnam’s first dine-‘n’-slide hotel begins construction
