Carmine Iommazzo has been appointed as General Manager at The Westin Anaheim Resort

Wincome Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Carmine Iommazzo as the General Manager for The Westin Anaheim Resort, the under construction four-diamond hotel expected to open in late 2019. In this new role, Iommazzo will oversee all aspects of the luxurious new hotel, including its 613 stylish guestrooms, 101 suites, three restaurants, two bars including a rooftop lounge, and more than 42,000 square feet of state of the art meeting space. Iommazzo, born and raised in Australia, fell in love with hospitality while originally studying accounting, and although he had a knack for numbers, his true passion rested in the food and service industry. He earned a diploma in 1997 at the International College of Hotel Management in Adelaide, a joint project of the Swiss Hotel Association, Le Cordon Bleu, and the Government of South Australia.While studying for his degree, Iommazzo worked at Hyatt Hotels in Adelaide and Melbourne, and The Regent Hotel Sydney. Upon graduation, he joined the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas. Iommazzo has held several management positions at prestigious hotels in Hawaii and San Diego. He was named General Manager of Makena Beach and Golf Resort in Maui in 2011, and in 2013 as General Manager of The Kahala Hotel and Resort in Honolulu, a five-diamond resort operated by Landmark Hotels Group.

Alicia Dill has been appointed as SVP for The Americas at Worldhotels

Worldhotels, a global sales, marketing and distribution company, with over 350 independent upscale and luxury hotels in 50 countries, is strengthening its leadership team by appointing Alicia Dill as new Senior Vice President, the Americas. In her new role, Dill will be responsible for all Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Optimisation efforts for the company’s growing portfolio of member hotels in North and South America. She will report directly to Geoff Andrew, the Chief Executive Officer of Worldhotels. Dill’s hiring comes at a time when Worldhotels is making significant investments in enhancing its service offerings for independent hotels – including the expansion of its global sales force, new property development teams, a major rebranding project, and the design of a robust CRM/loyalty platform. Dill joins Worldhotels from the 5-star, 5-diamond Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverley Hills, where she led the sales and marketing team for the past seven years and served on its Executive Committee. Prior to Viceroy, she spent eight years in various sales and marketing leadership roles with Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Hilton Hotels.

Luca Bruno has been appointed as Restaurant General Manager Of Madera at Rosewood Sand Hill

Rosewood Sand Hill, the luxury hotel located in Menlo Park, California, has appointed Luca Bruno as Restaurant General Manager at Madera, the hotel’s Michelin-starred signature restaurant. In his new role, Bruno will continue the ongoing success of Madera and oversee all restaurant operations including staff management and guest interactions. Bruno will also work closely with both front and back of house staff to optimize the restaurant experience for guests.

Johanna Mercado has been promoted to Director of Catering at InterContinental Mark Hopkins and InterContinental San Francisco

Johanna Mercado was recently promoted to Director of Catering for the InterContinental Mark Hopkins and InterContinental San Francisco. Johanna previously held positions of Senior Convention Services Manager at InterContinental San Francisco and Associate Director of Catering for both properties and has more than twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining the InterContinental Hotels of San Francisco, Johanna was Sales and Catering Manager for HOTEL REX and HOTEL CARLTON, both Joie De Vivre Hotels.

Asmara Mazur has been promoted to Front Office Manager at InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Asmara Mazur joined the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in 2013 in a management training program at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort in Thailand. After some time with the Atlantis The Palm in Dubai in the guest relations office, Asmara moved back to Thailand to work for the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam as Resort Assistant Manager. She later returned to the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort as the Club InterContinental Manager, where she opened the new lounge and managed the Club team. She moved to San Francisco in 2016 where she began as Night Manager at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins, overseeing the front desk, bell service, and instant service team in addition to housekeeping and food and beverage during overnight hours. Mazur was most recently promoted to Front Office Manager for the InterContinental Mark Hopkins team.

Lindley Stovall has been appointed as Catering Sales Manager at InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins

New Catering Sales Manager Lindley Stovall is working with both the InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins teams. The hospitality professional brings experience with luxury brands, restaurants, and hotels to her new position as well as a degree in Business Administration and Hospitality Industry Management. She was most recently a Sales Coordinator for the Omni Hotel in San Francisco.

Andrea Walsh has been promoted to Director of Rooms at InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Andrea Walsh has been promoted from Director of Front Desk Operations to Director of Rooms for the InterContinental Mark Hopkins. Prior to moving to San Francisco, Walsh worked in various positions in the hospitality industry in Colorado including Owner and Director for Serenity Spa and Salon, Director of Front Desk Operations and General Manager for East West Resorts’ luxury Poste Montane Hotel and Director of Rooms for Keystone Resorts under the Vail Resorts, Inc. portfolio, where she oversaw front office, guest services, and housekeeping operations.

Don Harms has been appointed as Area Director of Safety and Security at InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Don Harms is the new Area Director of Safety and Security for the InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the team, having worked with the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas in Hawaii, California’s Great America in Santa Clara, the Port of Oakland, and most recently, the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. Harms also has training and experience in security logistics at major events from professional sporting events, concerts, festivals, and parades to events with high ranking government officials.

Alexis Amato has been appointed as Transient Sales Manager at Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel

Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel announced today the appointment of Alexis Amato as Transient Sales Manager. In her new role, Amato will be responsible for growing negotiated and business travel, as well as driving marketing efforts for the 157-room beachside Huntington Beach hotel. With over a decade of hospitality experience, Amato brings event and sales expertise, coupled with vast leadership abilities to the hotel. Before joining the Shorebreak team, Amato served as the senior sales manager at the Hotel Maya, a Doubletree resort in Long Beach, where she facilitated group stays and events. Prior to that role, she served as the client services and catering sales coordinator at the Avenue of the Arts hotel in Costa Mesa. Although she is originally an East Coast native, Alexis spent most of her life in San Diego before graduating from Cal State Fullerton. Abby Derohanian has been promoted to Director of Housekeeping at InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Recently promoted to Director of Housekeeping, Abby Derohanian first joined the InterContinental Mark Hopkins team as Assistant Front Office Manager in 2014. She brings more than ten years of experience to her new position, having worked in a number of positions in the hospitality industry in Connecticut ranging from guest services to innkeeper to sales and catering. She was most recently the Front Office Manager for the InterContinental Mark Hopkins, managing day-to-day operations, monitoring hotel guest satisfaction, handling guest issues, among other responsibilities for the historic property.

The Domain Hotel To Be Rebranded As Citadines Cupertino Sunnyvale

CapitaLand"s wholly owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), is investing S$81.5 million to acquire and refurbish The Domain Hotel, a freehold hotel in Silicon Valley, California, to capture the fast-growing demand from global technology companies and multinational corporations. The 136-unit hotel will continue to operate as it undergoes refurbishment in phases before being rebranded to Citadines Cupertino Sunnyvale in 4Q 2018. This will be Ascott"s second Citadines-branded property in the U.S., following its acquisition of Hotel Central Fifth Avenue New York in May. The latter will be renovated and rebranded to Citadines Fifth Avenue New York in 2018. The property is Ascott"s fourth acquisition in the U.S. within five months. Ascott has more than tripled last year"s portfolio to over 2,900 units in the country.
