Micah Friedman has been named Member of the Board of Governors at Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG)

Rosewood Hotel Group's Chief Information Officer, Micah Friedman, joins Hospitality Technology Next Generation's (HTNG's) Board of Governors, the direction-setting body of the organization. Bringing over thirty years of hospitality and technology experience, Micah leads the global IT organization of Rosewood Hotel Group and work with the company's leaders to craft and drive a digital business transformation that will create better experiences for guests, associates, management and owners. Most recently, Micah led travel and hospitality management consulting for Cognizant Technology Solutions and previously oversaw Oracle Corporation's hospitality industry business unit. Prior to joining Oracle, Micah served as Enterprise Architect for a major private equity firm and held technology leadership positions at renowned clubs and resorts. In addition to Micah's extensive experience in the hospitality technology industry, Micah has been engaged with HTNG for about 15 years, including his service as a former workgroup member, workgroup leader, Co-chair on HTNG's Vendor Advisory Council, event speaker and evangelist. Moving forward, Micah told HTNG he is proud to join as a leader of Rosewood. HTNG's Board of Governors now consists of 21 top IT leaders from hospitality companies around the world. These individuals are responsible for technology in over three million hotel guest rooms and world-leading hospitality venues.

Morten Larsen has been appointed as Hospitality Applications Manager at Core Hospitality

Morten Larsen is among the most experienced IT profiles in the hospitality industry, and he now transferring to Core Hospitality, a white-label hotel operator in the Nordics. His new role as Hospitality Applications Manager makes him responsible for developing and improving the hotel operator's technologies.On November 1st, Morten Larsen began in his new role as Hospitality Applications Manager at Core Hospitality, the Danish hotel management company that operates Moxy in Copenhagen, Best Western Plus near Copenhagen Airport, and Hotel Marina north of Copenhagen. Morten wi ll take on responsibility of the development and improvement of the operator's technologies, among which is the property management system Opera. Morten has experience from Micros-Fidelio (since acquired by Oracle), which owns the Opera system, and many years' experience as implementation specialist, IT project manager, IT manager and hotel application consultant from, among others, Bella Sky, RAW IT and, most recently, Brøchner Hotels.

Connie Rheams has been appointed as Global Vice President, Global Accounts Sales at Oracle Hospitality

Prior to joining Oracle, Connie was Vice President Hospitality at Beekeeper, and served as senior vice president and general manager of Indra North America, an SAP co-innovation partner for hospitality. She also held senior leadership roles at Pegasus Solutions, Sabre and American Airlines. Rheams holds a Master"s in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Tyler Schulte has been appointed as Vulnerability Scanning Engineer at VENZA MSP

Sean Hoggard has been appointed as Director of Technology at ProfitSword

Sean Hoggard takes on the role of Director of Technology after having initially joined ProfitSword in 2008. Previously recognized for his ability to enhance team collaboration and ensure full customer satisfaction, Hoggard's new position will task him with providing oversight for development and technical support teams, and will report to Crutchfield in this capacity. Hoggard is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and is further credited by colleagues for his expertise in strategic planning, leadership and customer service.

Travis McElfresh has been named Senior Vice President, Technology at Virtuoso

Veteran technologist Travis McElfresh has joined global luxury travel network Virtuoso® as its Senior Vice President, Technology. McElfresh serves as a member of the organization's leadership team while also driving a technology strategy that spans the group's online presence as well as the development of tools that serve the network's travel agency membership across 50 countries and the 20,000 travel advisors they represent. The scope of his role includes product management, software engineering, IT operations, business intelligence and data services.

Vikas Bhalla has been appointed as Chief Transformation Officer at Choice Hotels International, Inc.

As a key member of Choice Hotels' senior executive leadership team reporting directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Pacious, Bhalla will advance the company's data-driven culture and lead the corporate strategy, business transformation, and data analytics teams. In addition to identifying new business opportunities, Bhalla will work closely with Pacious to develop strategies that fuel the company's long-range growth.

Ernie Babb has joined VENZA as IT Specialist

Ernie is VENZA's IT Specialist. With an extensive background in IT, IT Tech, Consulting, Ernie's last gig was as a SysAdmin. Ernie can't remember ever not being excited about something IT-related. He admires The Dark Knight's resolve because just like Batman Ernie always gets the job done.

Jeremy Brandt has joined VENZA as Security Analyst

Jeremy is a Cybersecurity Specialist that is passionate about helping clients align business objectives while achieving security compliance that focuses on performance and value. Jeremy will help clients guide them on their PCI journey and strengthen their security postures so they can continue business operations smoothly while fostering trust and reliability in their brand. Jeremy currently holds a CISA certification and studies Cyber and Network Security at Georgia Tech.

Dan Bell has been appointed as Senior Vice President Shiji Americas at Shiji Group

Previously, Mr. Bell served as Senior Vice President of Oracle Hospitality's North America Hotels Division where he first joined under MICROS Systems, Inc. in 2002. During his career with MICROS, he held leadership roles across Food & Beverage, Hotels, and Sports & Entertainment divisions to facilitate global growth for the company and its customers up until Oracle's acquisition of MICROS in 2014. Prior to MICROS and Oracle, Mr. Bell worked with NCR for a lengthy 19-year career where he held various roles in Sales, Product Management, and Sales Management.
