David Kotze has been appointed as Director, Hotel Systems at Crystalbrook Collection

David is a seasoned IT hospitality professional with more than 30 years’ experience working throughout South Africa, the United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Throughout his career David has worked on more than 50 hotel openings and project managed 23 hotel openings. Most recently he led the hospitality sector for IT corporation Systemnet.

Pete Simpson has been appointed as Senior Vice President Global Business Technology at protel hotelsoftware GmbH

32 years in IT Management. Former CEO of a successful Australian ITC Integration and Consulting company. Pete spent 16 years with MICROS Inc in various technical roles including SVP of Global Business Technology. Pete launched MICROS hosting initiatives in 2003 and managed their industry dominating cloud business until the Oracle acquisition. He has since worked as an independent business technology consultant for various hospitality software, venture capital and investment companies. In January 2017, Pete joined protel to lead the protel I/O project. He is currently working with a team of developers to build an Enterprise Hospitality Framework based on ESB technology, that will provide tight integration of core property operations, enterprise data, distribution, guest experience and enhanced retailing. protel CEO and Co-Founder Ingo Dignas says “We are delighted that Pete has joined us, with his proven track record in delivering innovative and world class technology initiatives we have no doubt that his contribution at protel will have a major impact on our industry.”

Edward Malinowski has been named Chief Information Officer at Great Wolf Resorts, Inc.

Great Wolf Resorts, Inc. announced today that Edward Malinowski will join North America’s largest family of indoor water park resorts on June 5 and serve as the company’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). Malinowski joins Great Wolf Resorts from Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Hong Kong, where he served as the company’s Chief Information Officer overseeing the brand’s worldwide IT operations. With more than 20 years of IT experience, Malinowski has a proven record of success in innovation, scaling and growth, strategic planning and execution, modernization, and security. Most recently, he executed a complete overhaul of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ enterprise IT organization from the ground up. Prior to that, he served as the Vice President of Technology Solutions for Hyatt Hotels where he was responsible for the architecture, daily operations, and security for more than 500 Hyatt hotels worldwide. Malinowski graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

Christian Cooper has been appointed as Vice President of Information Technology at Dream Hotel Group

In this role, Cooper will lead the innovation and implementation of several large-scale IT initiatives to support the rapid growth and expansion of Dream Hotel Group and its portfolio of brands – Dream Hotels, Time Hotels, The Chatwal and Unscripted Hotels.

Peter Chambers has been appointed as Chief Information Officer at sbe

David Starmer has been appointed as Chief Information Officer at Sonesta International Hotels Corporation

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation today announced the appointment of David Starmer as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In this role, Starmer will lead the strategy and execution of the company’s global technology investments, operations and resources. He will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer, Carlos Flores. Mr. Starmer brings a wealth of business and hospitality technology experience to Sonesta. Most recently, he served as Vice President, IT Store Systems for Dunkin’ Brands where he led the worldwide direction and strategy for all in-store technology and related resources for more than 20,000 Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins locations in over 60 countries. Prior to Dunkin’, Mr. Starmer held senior IT leadership roles at Papa Murphy's International and several other multi-unit restaurant brands. Additionally, he spent five years leading the information technology practice for an international consulting firm. Mr. Starmer earned a BA from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC and a MS in the Management of Information Technology from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, where he also currently serves on the program's Advisory Board. Additionally, Mr. Starmer is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Hospitality Technology Magazine.

Florian Daniel has been appointed as Senior Director of Group IT at H World International

Florian Daniel takes on the position of Senior Director of Group IT at Deutsche Hospitality with effect from 1 March. Daniel has more than 16 years of experience in the IT sector. After starting out in consultancy and project management roles, he has spent most of his career so far working for the international initial and continuing training provider Berlitz, where he progressed from IT Coordinator for Europe to ultimately become Director of Worldwide IT. In this post, he was responsible for global and strategic IT operations for 39 countries and around 400 locations.

Scott Strickland has been appointed as Chief Information Officer at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts

Scott Strickland will spearhead the ongoing effort to enhance and implement Wyndham’s overall technology strategy and the continued migration of the company’s 18 brands to the Sabre SynXis property management and central reservation system. Wyndham Hotel Group was the first global hospitality company of its scale to roll out the system helping economy and midscale hoteliers grow their business by more efficiently managing pricing and inventory With 25 years of experience in the field of information technology, Strickland joins Wyndham from D+M Group where he led the company’s information technology function as chief information officer. Prior to this position, Strickland held the role of executive director, information technology with Nissan North America. Previously, he held technology roles at Stanley Black & Decker, IBM and Mars, Inc.

John Neeley has been promoted to Vice President, Information Technology at Outrigger Hospitality Group

Outrigger Hotels and Resorts announced today that W. David P. Carey III, who has successfully led the company for more than 30 years, will transition into a lead role on the Outrigger advisory board and focus on development, community relations and strategic growth. KSL Resorts co-founder and CEO Scott Dalecio will take over day-to-day oversight as Outrigger plans for future enhancements. Additional appointments include the promotion of Outrigger veteran John Neeley, vice president of information technology, who has worked with Outrigger for 24 years.

Patrick Blache has been appointed as Vice President of Information Technology at John Q. Hammons (JQH) Hotels & Resorts, LLC

John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts (JQH) today announced that Patrick Blache has been promoted to vice president of information technology. He previously served as corporate senior director of information technology for the Springfield, Missouri-based company, which is a leading private, independent owner and manager of hotels in the United States. With more than 18 years of comprehensive experience in a multi-site, multi-host, network environment, Blache is responsible for continuing to guide JQH’s IT strategy at the corporate and portfolio levels, including 35 hotels and more than 1 million square feet of superb meeting space. He is located in JQH’s headquarters in Springfield and reports to Christopher Smith, JQH’s senior vice president of administration and control. As vice president, Blache continues to oversee planning, organization, security and execution of all IT functions for JQH. Prior to joining the company in 2015, Blache served as director of technical services for Catholic Health Initiatives in Denver. His career also includes work as a systems engineer for Acxiom Corporation in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Jason Segebrecht has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer at First Hospitality

Segebrecht comes to FHG with 20 years of experience in the real estate industry with an extensive background in IT and accounting. Previously, he served as the director of financial applications administration at General Growth Properties, where he was responsible for leading a team of people that supported internal and external financial reporting applications.
