Jonathan Greensted has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer at Travelodge (UK)

Travelodge, one of the UK’s largest independent hotel brands today announces the appointment of Jonathan Greensted to the newly-created position of Chief Technology Officer. Jonathan will report directly to the Chief Executive, Peter Gowers. Within his new role Jonathan will be responsible for ensuring innovative technology drives the business forward, through the development of the company’s customer-facing and internal technology applications.

Bira Bains has been appointed as Head of IT at Arora Group

Bira Bains has been appointed to the position of Head of IT, effective 5th September. Bira hasconsiderable experience in the IT sector, working in a number of specialist IT roles for various firms, over the course of his 20 year career. Most recently, Bira worked as a Programme Director for Cambridge University Press for four years where he was responsible for a number of business transformational programmes. Previous to this, Bira worked for SAP as a Development and Programme Manager responsible for implementing SAP and rolling it out across a number of companies. His appointment will afford, current IT & Purchasing Director Sunny Roda, the time and opportunity to focus on the development of the Group’s purchasing activities, ensuring Arora’s purchasing operations optimise all returns to support the Group’s growth and financial stability.

Gustaf Burman has been appointed as Senior VP, Information Technology at Montage International

An accomplished technology executive with over 20 years of global experience building and managing domestic and international teams, Gustaf is responsible for developing and executing the technology strategy for the company.

Dennis Wong has been appointed as Area Director of IT at InterContinental Hotels of San Francisco

The InterContinental Hotels of San Francisco are proud to announce the following new hires and promotions across the revenue, accounting, and IT teams at the InterContinental San Francisco and InterContinental Mark Hopkins. New Area Director of IT Dennis Wong brings hospitality experience from several San Francisco area hotels to his new position with the InterContinental Hotels of San Francisco. He spent the last two years working in hospitality as IT Manager at four Kimpton Hotels & Resorts properties and was most recently the Area IT Manager for Noble House Hotels and Resorts, including the Argonaut and Tuscan Hotels. Wong is responsible for day-to-day operations and troubleshooting of IT issues, infrastructure upgrades, desktop deployment, and more.

Ken Barnes has been named Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Omni Hotels & Resorts

Omni Hotels & Resorts appointed Ken Barnes as the new CIO for the luxury hotel brand. In this role, he will be responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of all information technology. He will help drive Omni’s business objectives by providing the enterprise-wide information technology vision and leadership for operating a reliable and stable infrastructure and leading the deployment and management of current and emerging technology products, services and systems across the organization. Barnes joins Omni from GuestTek Interactive in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where he served as the SVP of global service responsible for managing technology service and support for the company. During this time, his team exceeded annual recurring revenue targets by more than 12 percent. Prior to that, Barnes worked for White Lodging Services for two decades, most recently serving as VP of information technology. In this role, he was responsible for the company’s IT operations, as well as capital budgets for more than 170 hotels.

Dhiren Savla has been appointed as Group Chief Information Officer at Kuoni Group

Matt Granfield has been appointed as Executive Director – Digital at Mantra Group

Matt Granfield has joined the Mantra Group Executive Committee as Executive Director – Digital, overseeing the Group’s e-commerce and digital strategy. His appointment reflects the increasing focus on digital initiatives undertaken by the expanding Australian hotel group and retail focused companies both in tourism and other industries. With over 15 years of digital and marketing experience, Matt was previously Head of Customer Marketing and Digital at Heritage Bank, and prior to that a partner and consultant with some of Australia's best-known creative agencies working on both tourism and financial services brands. Matt joins Mantra Group as a member of the Executive Committee reporting to Chief Financial Officer Steven Becker with recruitment currently underway for the other members in the newly created Digital team. Matt studied his MBA at the University of Queensland and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Strategic Marketing Management program. He is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian Institute of Management.

Kris Singleton has been named Global Board Director at Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP)

As of November 1,Kris Singleton, CIO for Omni Hotels & Resorts, joins as a director on the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) Global Board. Singleton was appointed for a two year term by the HFTP Global Executive Committee when it recently convened following the association's Annual Business Meeting at the 2015 Annual Convention & Tradeshow in Bellevue, Wash. USA. Singleton previously served as advisory council chair for HFTP’s 2013 Hospital Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), the world’s largest hospitality technology event.

Jeff Snow has been appointed as Director of Interactive Design and Development at Monscierge

Hospitality technology firm Monscierge, recently known for providing the Travelodge UK mobile booking application, has added the hospitality expertise of Jeff Snow, the former Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Director of Interactive Design and Development, to their team.During his tenure at Starwood, Snow led teams of UX/UI designers, project managers and art directors to produce content for all communication channels throughout the 10 brands under the Starwood umbrella, including the Starwood Preferred Guest rewards program.
