Barbara Göttling has been appointed as General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Munich

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Barbara Göttling as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Munich. Ms Göttling will take up her new position on 1 May 2026, succeeding Marc Epper.

Born in Vienna, Barbara Göttling brings more than 20 years of international experience in luxury hospitality. Most recently, she served as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Prague, where she drove the hotel's strategic development and successfully strengthened its position as an internationally recognised destination with a strong local identity.

Throughout her global career, Ms Göttling has held senior leadership roles across Sales, Marketing and Operations with renowned hotel groups including Hyatt and Accor. Her approach to contemporary luxury combines operational excellence and strategic insight with an intuitive understanding of people and a deep commitment to distinguished hospitality. In addition, she is actively engaged as a mentor and participates in a range of networks and communities dedicated to empowering and sustainably supporting women in the hospitality industry.

In her new role, Barbara Göttling will lead the continued strategic evolution of Mandarin Oriental, Munich, further reinforcing its position as one of Europe's leading luxury hotels. Her focus will include the creation of highly personalised guest experiences, fostering an authentic connection to the city of Munich, and the ongoing development of a service culture defined by mindfulness, precision and timeless elegance.
