An icon is soon to be shining and shimmering in new grandeur: Europäischer Hof, the founding hotel, located in Baden-Baden and acquired by Albert Steigenberger in the 1930s, is still putting its imprint on the European luxury hotel industry in the present day. To mark the progress attained in the construction work, Deutsche Hospitality will be holding a press conference on Thursday, 15 December 2022, inviting guests to an exclusive opening tour of the Steigenberger icon Europäischer Hof. With modern furnishings, an expansive spa area featuring exclusive spa suites, culinary catering, an atmospheric bar and lounge, topping it off, as an absolute highlight, with a rooftop terrace overlooking Baden-Baden, the new Steigenberger icon Europäischer Hof offering 121 rooms blending tradition and modernity.

The Europäischer Hof In Baden-baden, Is Now Set To Rejoin The Deutsche Hospitality Family

A place with plenty of stories to tell. The Hotel Europäischer Hof in Baden-Baden, which has a unique history stretching back for 180 years and which occupies an unencumbered location within the direct vicinity of the city's historic assembly rooms and spa, its Europe-wide renowned Casino and old quarter, will be operated as a Steigenberger Icon in future. Albert Steigenberger laid the foundations for Steigenberger Hotels AG when he acquired the building housing the Europäischer Hof in 1930. The company he started has now gone on to become Deutsche Hospitality, which manages 160 hotels across three continents.

Henning Matthiesen has been appointed as Managing Director at Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa

On January 1, 2020, Henning Matthiesen was appointed the new Managing Director of Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, the principal hotel of the Oetker Collection. The 47-year-old hotelier succeeds Frank Marrenbach who will now devote all his time to his role as CEO of the Oetker Collection. In his new job at the legendary grand hotel in Baden-Baden, Henning Matthiesen will be able to draw on a wealth of experience which he acquired during his career at some of Europe's most renowned hotels.

Renovation of the Europäischer Hof Baden-Baden continues apace

The Europäischer Hof Baden-Baden, the founding hotel of Steigenberger Hotels AG, is currently undergoing extensive renovation and conversion works. Developer Martin Buchli, Baden Baden"s Mayor Margret Mergen, Head Architect Peter W. Kruse and Matthias Heck, CFO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, were all on hand today to attend the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone for the new build of the Luise Wing of the hotel. Once complete, this part of the building will house an elegant arcade of shops, 45 rooms and suites and a roof top glass pavilion offering a terrace. Until the scheduled reopening in 2019, the hotel"s inner courtyard will also be redesigned so as to expose the main historic building in all its glory. The Europäischer Hof will provide a total of 122 rooms and suites once the conversion and renovation programme has been concluded. There will also be several bars and restaurants to meet all the culinary needs of the guests as well as a spa and gym area extending over an area of around 900 square metres. Four conference rooms will be available.
