Tina Yu, Senior Vice President of KSL Capital Partners was awarded the prestigious ISHC Young Leader Award at the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) with an audience of over 2000 senior leaders from 80 countries worldwide. The International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) presented Yu the award in partnership with Questex Hospitality Group, the organizers of the IHIF conference.
A management change is in the pipeline at the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin on Los Angeles Platz near the Kurfürstendamm. Gondra Wettley, who recently received a "General Manager of the Year Award" from Deutsche Hospitality in recognition of her outstanding achievements, will depart to enjoy a well-deserved retirement before the end of the year. So as to facilitate as smooth a transition as possible, arrangements have already been made to appoint a successor in the person of Richard Engelmayer. Mr. Engelmayer has worked for the company for 25 years and is General Manager of the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Frankfurt am Main since May 2013.
Gabriele Maessen will take over the reins at the Steigenberger Hotel am Kanzleramt in Berlin with effect from April 2018. She will also be responsible for Steigenberger Hotels in the East Region as Area General Manager. Alongside the Steigenberger Hotel am Kanzleramt, her remit in this latter capacity will include the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin, the Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci in Potsdam, the Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe in Dresden, the Steigenberger Hotel Esplanade and the Maxx Hotel in Jena.

The first day of the 21st International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF), taking place at the InterContinental hotel in Berlin was opened by Questex President and Chief Executive Officer Kerry Gumas. Gumas welcomed over 2,300 people to the event from over 80 countries, representing the largest delegation in the history of IHIF. Gumas highlighted that the conference programme would be split into daily themes this year. Day 1 would focus on the economics of hotel investment, Day 2 would explore the view from the C Suite and the final day would explore innovation, investment and new business opportunities.

After 2013 he was given responsibility for all Group Hotels in Munich and Nuremberg, Germany, and Zürich, Switzerland. Last year he was responsible for the takeover and integration of 5 Hotels in Portland, UK. Yoram Biton holds a degree in hotel management and business administration from the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) in Tel Aviv. He lives in Munich, Germany, is married and has 3 children.
Daniel Roger joined the Fattal Group in 2006 and has been head of Leonardo Hotels in Europe ever since. The European Division, of the group, grew from one hotel in Munich, Germany, in 2006, to more than 130 hotels in over 75 cities and all under his leadership. As Managing Director, of Fattal Hotels Europe & UK, he will particularly focus on integrating the Jurys Inn Hotels into the Leonardo Group. Roger can now look back on more than 40 years of professional experience within international hotel chains. He holds degrees in hotel management from the former hotel management school of D.Speiser, at the Tegernsee in Germany, and from the hotel management school in Leysin, Switzerland.
