Birmingham's newest luxury property, the 151-room Daxton Hotel, today announces its return as an independently owned and operated luxury property along with the appointment of its new Managing Director, Raj Radke.
Daxton Hotel announces today the appointment of Certified Sommelier Liz Martinez as Director of Beverage and Service. Martinez will bring new food & beverage programming to the striking new build on the city's iconic Old Woodward Ave, and will also elevate the hotel's dining experience with a brand-new wine list for its flagship restaurant, Madam.
Daxton Hotel opens its doors in Birmingham, MI, located just 30 minutes north of Detroit. Renowned chef Garrison Price serves as executive chef for Daxton Hotel, which will stand as the most luxurious property in Aparium's portfolio. Price will oversee the hotel's fine dining restaurant, Madam, featuring enlightened American fare with an ever-evolving menu focusing on seasonality and the freshness emblematic of California cuisine. Price has more than 20 years of culinary experience, most recently as the executive chef and culinary director of New York City's Il Fiorista. He also served as executive chef for three years at Manhattan's iconic il Buco Alimentari e Vineria and culinary director for Jean-Georges Vongerichten, overseeing 17 of his acclaimed restaurants around the globe.

Black boasts 23 years of experience opening and managing luxury hotels, and joined the Aparium team last year as General Manager of Daxton. Most recently, Black was General Manager at The Armstrong Hotel in Fort Collins, CO, where he spent over two years, and worked in managerial positions at luxury properties around North America in Boise, ID, Portland, ME, Burlington, VT, St. Louis, MO, Palo Alto, CA, Maui, HI and Toronto throughout his career. Black obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Prince Edward Island.
