Robert Bruce has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common

Most recently, Chef Robert served as Executive Sous Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas for three years where he oversaw all culinary operations for the award-winning resort. Prior to St. Thomas, Chef Robert was the Banquet Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai from 2012 to 2014. Additional culinary experience with The Ritz-Carlton brand includes working in the kitchens of The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay from 2006 to 2012 where he was Chef de Partie in Banquets and Garde Manger, prior to his promotion as Garde Manger Chef. Chef Robert began his Ritz-Carlton career with The Ritz-Carlton, Dearborn following his work as Lead Cook at The Country Club of Detroit and Five Lakes Grill in Michigan. Educated at School Craft College in Lavonia, Michigan, Chef Robert holds an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences, Culinary Arts.

Felicia Rahm has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at The Copley Square Hotel

BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Felicia Rahm director of sales for The Copley Square Hotel, a Gemstone Collection property located in Boston, Massachusetts. Stephen Cullen, BENCHMARK’s general manager for the hotel, made the announcement. Felicia Rahm was most recently the director of sales & marketing for the Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center, located in Portland, Oregon. Previous to this she served as director of group sales at The Heathman Hotel, a boutique luxury hotel in downtown Portland. Prior to this Rahm held sales and marketing positions for properties in Tucson, Arizona, and Portland, Oregon.

Christopher W Hartzell has been appointed as General Manager at YOTEL Boston

YOTEL, the affordable luxury hotel brand, announces their leadership team who will operate the new 326 cabin hotel opening this June in Boston’s Seaport District. General Manager Christopher Hartzell will lead the team at YOTEL Boston, the UK-based brand’s second U.S. location since they crossed the pond to open YOTEL New York. Christopher Hartzell was selected to be General Manager due to his 15 years of extensive hotel and leadership experience, along with his deep familiarity of New England and Boston’s Seaport District. Chris was previously on the opening team for the Aloft and Element Boston Seaport Hotels in 2016 and held management positions at Starwood properties in Waltham, Newton, Lexington and New Orleans, LA.

Trish Berry has been appointed as General Manager at Ames Boston Hotel

As she assumes leadership of the iconic property known as “Boston’s first skyscraper,” Berry will draw on nearly 30 years of experience in the high-end hotel and residence industries.Most recently, Berry held General Manager positions at the AAA Four Diamond-rated Battery Wharf Hotel in Boston, where she oversaw a successful transition from a branded property (Fairmont) to a fully independent hotel, and The Ritz-Carlton Residences Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland, where she managed a sprawling 191 unit luxury condominium residence that included spa, marina and restaurant amenities. Previously, Berry resided in the Washington, D.C.-area and served as the General Manager of The Sports Club/LA, and General Manager of Hotel Monaco for Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group. Upon graduating from Clemson University, Berry launched her career in the hospitality sect with the prestigious Ritz-Carlton brand.

Mark Jeffery has been appointed as General Manager at the Sheraton Needham

Waterton, a U.S. real estate investor and operator, today announced it has appointed Mark Jeffery as general manager of the Sheraton Needham Hotel in Needham, Mass. A 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Jeffery will be responsible for overall operations of the 247-key hotel, leading a team of 110 on-site associates.Jeffery most recently spent five years as general manager of the Boston Newton Marriott, repositioning the property through effective management practices and a strategic budget and capital plan that boosted all major financial performance metrics. He previously served as general manager of the Renaissance Boston at Patriot Place Hotel & Spa, leading the award-winning opening of the hotel in 2009. Prior to that, he held various positions with Marriott International Inc., one of which included auditing hotels in the United Kingdom, dating back to 1999. As senior director of operations for Marriott’s Eastern region, his most recent role with the company, he oversaw a portfolio of 43 hotels located between Pennsylvania and Maine, achieving the highest-ever guest satisfaction rating for the area.Jeffery holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management. Throughout his career, he has earned numerous awards on both a personal and property level, including “General Manager of the Year” and “Hotel Opening of the Year.” Outside of his professional responsibilities in the hospitality industry, Jeffery has served on the boards of both the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber of Commerce and Arts & Business Council of Boston.

Glenn Sampert has been appointed as General Manager at The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel

The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel announces the appointment of Glenn Sampert as general manager of the Beacon Hill property. Sampert’s duties will include leading the hotel’s strategic direction, project management and owner relations; he will also oversee operations of the 298-room luxury hotel, including rooms, restaurants and bars, property operations and special events, including the hotel’s signature ‘Liberty Affairs’ programming.
