Josh Watts has been named as the new General Manager of the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel following extensive refurbishments to the property over the last year. He joins from a dual role managing both Jupiter Hotels-owned Mercure Grand North Bristol and Mercure Elcot Park Newbury, where he oversaw renovations of the properties.

Andrew Peacock, a Bristol local, has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 14 years, nine of which have been spent at Hilton hotels. Most recently, he acted as the general manager at Doubletree by Hilton Bristol North in Aztec West after a four year stint as deputy general manager. Prior to this, Andrew worked in Switzerland running two hotels for a ski and snowboard company. His extensive portfolio has armed him with the knowledge and expertise needed to launch and manage a busy hotel.
Hilton Worldwide has reached an agreement with modular building provider CIMC to develop the first hotel at Bristol Airport under its economy Hampton by Hilton brand. Financed and owned by CIMC, the hotel will be managed by Hilton Worldwide, drawing on its extensive experience of operating airport hotels at many of the world's top transport hubs.

Christopher, who is British, has a solid background in the hospitality industry, spanning 23 years. Having started his career in 1987 as Commis Chef aboard the Queen Elizabeth II cruise liner, he has since held various management positions at different international hotel chains in South Africa, China, Bahrain, UAE, Turkey and Russia.
Sanguine Hospitality has appointed Robin Wicks as chief executive to lead its expansion plans. The group, founded by Liverpool entrepreneur Simon Matthews- Williams, plans to open six more hotels in the next 12 months. Mr Wicks, who was already a non-executive director at Sanguine, spent 16 years at Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), where he served as chief operating office for Europe. Sanguine opened its first Hotel Indigo in Liverpool this year. Sanguine will open two more boutique hotels under the Indigo brand, which is owned by IHG, in coming months.
