The SpringHill Suites by Marriott San Diego Carlsbad has officially opened its doors. Located at 3136 Carlsbad Boulevard, the hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by DKN Hotels of Irvine, California. The 104-suite hotel will feature a rooftop lounge with sweeping ocean views and fire pits. Other hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a well-equipped fitness center, a complimentary breakfast, business services, complimentary Wi-Fi, and two meeting rooms with a combined 1,156 square-feet of functional space.

Hill previously worked as a General Manager of the Hyatt Place in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois. She also has a wide variety of hotel and management company experience with Wyndham/Crescent Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard/TMI Hospitality and Hilton/Pinnacle. Hill obtained a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield and a Master's Degree from Benedictine University Lisle.

Tom Wilson, who brings extensive experience in food and beverage operations, including 14 years at the top Marriott hotels in the county, has been named Cape Rey's new food and beverage director. Originally from England, Tom has spent the past 20 years in the U.S. working in luxury travel and food and beverage management across the country, including leading corporate food and beverage transition teams to open new hotel properties.
