Hilton's innovative hotel brand, Tru by Hilton, announced the opening of its latest property, Tru by Hilton Greenville. The 84-room hotel, located at 600 Rayner Road, is owned by Suresh Chawla and Michael Retzer and is managed by TCR Development LLC. The new hotel is conveniently located near the Greenville Golf & Country Club, The Skin Institute, Nelco Movie Theater, local festival sites, several area lakes and the Mississippi River.

The Kessler Collection Officially Breaks Ground on Grand Bohemian Hotel Greenville

The Kessler Collection, a portfolio of nine passionately created and artistically inspired boutique hotels and restaurants, officially broke ground on the highly anticipated Grand Bohemian Hotel Greenville. Brittany Polensky has been appointed as Director of Sales at Microtel Inn & Suites

Strand Hospitality Services and Greenville Hospitality Investments have recently announced that Ms Polensky has been hired as the Director of Sales for the Microtel Inn & Suites in Greenville, N.C. Ms Polensky will oversee the day-to-day sales and marketing efforts of the hotel, which is located within minutes of Vidant Medical Center and Brody School of Medicine as well as East Carolina University.

Jonathan Brashier has been appointed as General Manager at Aloft Greenville Downtown

Jonathan Brashier is the general manager at the new Aloft Greenville Downtown, slated to open November 2015. Brashier has over 20 years of hotel management and operations experience with brands such as SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott and Aloft. Brashier joined McKibbon in 2000 and most recently managed the Aloft Tallahassee Downtown. Brashier has won the Opening General Manager of the Year Award by Marriott International, Marriott Diamond General Manager Award and a national Marriott Sales Excellence Award. Brashier began his new position in late March.

Michael Heater has been appointed as General Manager at Candlewood Suites Greenville

St. Louis-based hotel owner, operator and developer, Midas Hospitality announces the hiring of Michael Heater, General Manager – Candlewood Suites – Greenville, South Carolina. Michael’s hospitality journey began over 20 years ago as the Assistant General Manager of The Phoenix Inn – Greenville, SC and most recently the Assistant General Manager of the Embassy Suites Resort & Conference Center in Greenville, SC. Michael attended Clemson University and Brevard College where he studied Financial Management. He is very active in the Greenville Community and is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class XXVII. Michael has held Board positions with the Greenville Chamber Leadership Alumni, Youth Leadership, and Opportunity Greenville. He currently serves on the Executive Committee for the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association Greater Greenville Chapter.

Jim Berkley has been appointed as General Manager at Hyatt Regency Greenville

Jim Berkley came to Greenville from the Renaissance Orlando Airport, another JHM Hotels property. There he oversaw and managed an extensive renovation and repositioned the hotel as a market leader. As General Manager, he was responsible for driving annual revenues to new heights, including growing the food and beverage sales in the Renaissance’s extremely busy conference space and restaurants. That experience will serve Jim well at Hyatt Regency Greenville, as he manages the renovation and opens the new demonstration kitchen restaurant, Roost. Berkley achieved and holds the coveted Certified Hospitality Administrator designation, and has won many awards, including General Manager of the Year for JHM, Marriott Award for Best Renovation, and Marriott Guest Satisfaction Award.
